During running, the pelvic floor muscles act like a seal around your bladder outlet as well as a trampoline at the base of your pelvis. They seal off or squeeze closed the bladder so urine stays inside the body. They support the bladder to keep it in the right place at the right time. If the pelvic floor muscles lack strength or coordination, urine may leak out during running. It may be a few occasional drops or it may be a larger volume. My friends at @rollgahealth must have been concerned about my lack of self care posts so they sent me this awesome foam roller! I’be been using it to work out my calves and IT Band, but my favourite way to use it is on my back! I’m getting into the high mileage weeks of my training plan and I’ve been incorporating more speedwork - which means that I’m focusing as much as I can on recovery - Including foam rolling!💃 I have fallen in love with the #rollga Rollga foam roller! Ever since the third trimester of my pregnancy, I’ve had pain in the muscles around my tailbone.
