EPISODE 5 (thoughts, p5) FINAL

there’s something just out of this world about Scott and Kip’s story. i’m well aware that a lot of people were angry because they “took” an entire chapter away from Ilya & Shane, but in my case? i was thrilled. i hadn’t really read their book when their episode came out, but i fell in love with their story instantly.

where i was going with this is: that scene of Scott standing off to the side, watching every family member go down to the ice to hug their players, was heartbreaking. he didn’t have anyone. he never did. and the fact that he realizes it doesn’t matter what people will think, because going to Kip would give him that? at the end of the day, he would have a family to go back to — someone to love him and show up for him — and that little boy who lost his parents would never feel alone ever again.

and Kip crying in front of everyone?? Elena having to wipe away his tears, his dad right by his side?? them having to encourage Kip to go when Scott calls after him?? he looks so happy and so lost going down the stairs and jumping onto the ice.

also — Kip reassuring Scott that he didn’t need to do that for him, and Scott answering that he has to. the hand placement. the passionate kiss? the eternal love declaration?

THE MUSIC??? give me your eyes, i need sunshine?? THE CUTS BETWEEN SKIP AND HOLLANOV?? the circular camera shot going from the kiss to Ilya and then to Shane? Shane straightening his back like he knows something is about to happen, and Ilya tensing his shoulders? THE CUT OF THE MUSIC when Ilya says he’s going to the cottage and then it starts again with the credits??

THIS EPISODE NEEDS AN EMMY. THIS EPISODE DESERVES AND EMMY.

I just know that the residents of BH thought that Eli was somehow the biological son of Stiles AND a Derek at the same time.

People there had seen the craziest shit per week. they just saw that little replica of Stiles running around the station playing hide and seek with the Sheriff while Derek is in work and where like “Yeah, that checks out”.
