im autistic and have access to noise-canceling headphones in my IEP and multiple teachers have told me to take my headphones off during class even after i explain that i focus better with them on

i just ordered a BUNCH of aromatherapy and sensory stationary for coloring and journaling. god i love having adult money. my father would have so many criticisms of how i spend my money.

which is why next i'm going to order arby's again bc my stomach cant seem to handle anything else for some god forsaken reason. and then i'll make a post once the coloring/journaling supplies comes reviewing everything :3

i love accomodating my neurodiversity and actually giving a shit about my wellbeing over the number in the bank!! as long as im paying all my necessary bills without issue its okay!! and that's exactly what im doing :D

Reminder to sanitize your sensory tools (and disability aids in general) whenever you can.

This includes dipping chewlery into a cup of boiling water, cleaning the screens of phones and AAC devices, sterilizing headphones and earplugs any way you can, wiping down fidgets with an alcohol wipe or even boiling them if you can, and cleaning the handles of canes, crutches, walkers, etc. Even clean your glasses if you wear them (and not just the lenses, the frames can collect an unbelievable amount of oil from your face).

It's especially important to clean anything that goes near you face or in your mouth.

If you can't do these things by yourself, try asking someone else for help. And if you aren't in a position to do any of these things due to a lack of support, I hope you get there eventually.
