Shadowhunters 2x17 Episode Recap

Gonna keep this one short cause I'm tired af. Another great episode! 2B is really proving itself. Of course the whole episode I was on edge about Malec but I think it was important that Magnus confronted Alec the way he did. And I understand that Alec truly is trying but this is one thing he did screw up on. I get why he didn't want to tell magnus but he still should have. Magnus has every right to be upset. Plus side is I'm pretty sure everyone is right about Magnus's flashbacks next week. And I know in the long run they'll be ok so I'm not trying to let it get me too sad lol. WHERE IS DOT????? I loved Izzy wingmanning for Simon even tho I still ship sizzy as the best for Simon. Max needs to stop getting into trouble I'm so scared for next week! I know what happens in the books but I'm thinking they might not actually do it in the show (I'm not gonna say what "it" is in case there's someone who doesn't know). I loved this episode so much! I still can’t believe one of my ships is canon. I’m so ecstatic because of all the Malec (THAT KISS!!!) but I’m just so sad because of Ragnor. It was heartbreaking to see Magnus lose his oldest friend, he looked so devastated. They just had the time to introduce this character before killing him off. I don’t know, there was so much potential : the actor was great, the dynamic between him and Magnus was amazing and he could bring in elements from the bane chronicles. I’m really disappointed about his death, I wanted more from this character :(

Lydia was great, she’s an actual angel and she was absolutely stunning. I’m so worried about what will happen to her next, I hope she’ll be safe.

Izzy and Simon were adorable and I liked their little moment in the Hotel Dumort but I really missed Raphael? I just wish he’d shown up to be his snarky self and act like a jealous bf (seriously tho, saphael caught me off guard and now I ship them so hard, I DID NOT PLAN FOR THIS TO HAPPEN).

Malec. I just can’t even talk about it. I hoped that they wouldn’t go with them kissing in front of everyone but the scene was so perfectly done, I’m really glad they did it that way in the end.

Such a good episode, I can’t wait for the season finale!

but there goes clace breaking my heart in the last five seconds wow ok byE

i have so many clace feelings this episode its a little absurd. like of course they pick tup their game and chemistry is on point just in time for #incest fml. season 2 is going to hurt like a bitch.

okay so thoughts on this week’s shadowhunters ep aka sadness all around:

someone pls start a gofundme for raphael’s jackets since his boyfriend keeps ruining them all

small lol at raphael telling clary and jace to call him which implies they have exchanged numbers at some point. i want that deleted scene pls.

CLACE AND THAT EXCELLENT TALK. but honestly it was so great because he is acknowledging that she has come a long way, and they both want to talk about ‘us’ but because jace is shitty at feelings and clary is led by her heart not her head they juST KISS INSTEAD AND ITS GREAT

IZZY!!! CARING!!! ABOUT!!!! MELIORN!!!!! i’m so happy their relationship is being expanded a little more even if it means sizzy will take longer. just yay for giving izzy more heartbreaking depth <3

izzy being 100% against alec and lydia bc she is probably secretly in love with lydia herself yooooo. but honestly i loved her sass so much. 

 SIMON I LOVE YOU SO MUCH YOU POOR BABY VAMPIRE. and i’m so glad clary qas quick to come clean about her choice to turn simon. she knew it was wrong to place the blame on raphael and this is why i love her so much. that scene between climon actually broke my haert a little ahhhhhh.

lol ‘of course he’s on my side’ i want all the parabatai jokes pls but honestly i love that jace switches sides as soon as meliorn mentions clary

i am not a fan of jace lying to alec bc it means very sad things coming and also jace goddamnit don’t bring magnus into this too ahhhhhhh 

i love that the tension between downworlders and shadowhunters is really getting explored through simon ok. that scene with clary in the cage was 100% what i am here for. climon was basically perf in this ep.

IZZY GOING AGAINST THE CLAVE AND AGAINST HER NEW ATTITUDE BECAUSE SHE CARES ABOUT MELIORN. IZZY LEADING WITH HER HEART.

that clace hug tho ahhhhhh jace is so terrible at hiding his feelings when it comes to her and the show is doing such a great job showing it.

CLARY LEADING THE DOWNWORLDERS INTO AN ALLIANCE. I AM HERE FOR IT. SO MUCH.

I DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE JALEC SCENE BECAUSE IT BROKE ME INTO MANY PIECES. but dom and matt did an incredible job. MOVING ON BEFORE I CRY AGAIN

also ‘welcome home’ literally raphael is like an excited newlywed omg. 

yooo meliorn and izzy just going at it like yessss girl you deserve some happiness after his tragic episode.
