Alec and Magnus go out and Magnus gets too drunk to take off his makeup. So Alec does it for him.
Alec may have been slightly buzzed, but Magnus was completely wasted. He relied heavily on Alec, feeling his biceps and saying occasional, lame pickup lines. Alec slowly stumbled with Magnus back to his apartment, since Magnus was too drunk to portal them back.
“Honestly, what’s the use in dating a warlock who can’t portal?” Alec joked.
“Listen, Alexander. I will... turn you... into a frog.” Alec smiled at the drunk warlock, chuckling a little.
“You can’t exactly, you know, a frog.”
“Alexander, are you talking about SEX?” Magnus yelled into the hallway. Alec nearly dropped Magnus in embarrassment.
“Lower your voice, Magnus. You’re worse than Izzy. Come on, we’re here.”
As they entered the apartment, Magnus attached his lips to Alec’s. Alec fell back a bit in surprise before kissing Magnus back with similar intensity. Magnus’ drunk figure manages to peel off Alec’s shirt and Alec laughs at the struggle it takes him. Magnus reaches for Alec’s zipper and reason dawns on Alec.
“Magnus, not while you’re drunk.”
“Alec, it’s okay.” Magnus’ hands brush over Alec’s hard-on over his underwear and his resolve fades a bit.
“Fuck, Magnus. I mean it. Not while you’re drunk.” Alec pulls away from him and Magnus pouts.
“Well, you’re no fun, are you?” Alec rolls his eyes.
“Maybe tomorrow morning, Magnus. When you’re not drunk. Now come on, let’s get you ready for bed.”
“Alexander, I am much older than you. I’m not a child you need to--”
Alec cut him off with a kiss and Magnus melted into the shadowhunter.
“Fine,” Magnus relented. Alec gently carried Magnus to the bedroom before laying him down gently on the bed. His deft fingers undid the buttons and pulled off Magnus’ shirt. He started pulling off Magnus’ pants, laughing at Magnus’ raised eyebrow of suggestion. He grabbed a more comfortable pair for Magnus to wear and put it on.
“Done!” Alec said happily. Magnus shook his head, lazily, sleepy from the alcohol. Alec looked at him in confusion.
“Makeup,” Magnus explained.
“I don’t... I’ve never really had...,” Alec stuttered through the sentence, not knowing how to take off Magnus’ makeup.
“It’s alright, Alec. I can just--” Magnus waved his hand and a small puff of magic appeared before disappearing. Magnus tried again but the magic just faded into the air. Magnus looked at his hands confused.
“Looks like I can’t. But I’ll guide you through it. There is Seelie oil and a towel in the bathroom.” Alec quickly grabbed the Seelie oil and towel before walking back to Magnus. The alcohol was truly hitting Magnus, causing him to become sleepy.
“Oil, towel,” Magnus said, before making a lazy motion with his hands, telling Alec to put the oil onto the towel. Alec followed the directions and looked at Magnus. Magnus pointed towards his face in a vague motion and Alec hesitantly put the towel over Magnus’ eyes.
Magnus moaned slightly at the effects of the Seelie oil, cooling and comforting. It took off the makeup easily, leaving Alec to do little work. He kissed Magnus once he finished one eye, then the other. Magnus felt safe, at home.
The way Magnus said it was different. He had no reason to say it. He wasn’t in any immediate danger. There was no fear that pushed him to say it. They had not been fighting. There was absolutely nothing wrong. It was raw and genuine, soft. It was true love.
“I love you too, Magnus. I love you so much.”
