Shifting with whimsy and fun
Guys let’s normalize whimsy and fun in our shifting journey! Did I js make a post abt also normalizing being unmotivated? Yes. But god FORBID a girl swing on both ends of the spectrum.
So my first tip is take a small step back
One thing I did to jump from one side to the next was take a break. Was it a short one? Yes. Was it intended? No.
But I use to try and shift like 20 times a day. Every 15 minute window I have where I’m able to close my eyes? Yeah I’m using that to try and travel the multiverse.
But then I read this post on consciousness and the ego and was like “yo those other 19 times I could just practice mindfulness and meditation” And so for a day I did that.
(The post was “I Might Have Found the Real Reason We Struggle to Shift After Years of Research — and How to Finally Do It” by @adelina-shifts)
The meditation went so well that the same night I wanted to try shifting again- adding it to my attempt this time.
You don’t have to take a one week break, or even a one month one. You don’t need a steady plan just take a small step back and when you feel the desire to step forward again do it. It’s your journey you decide.
Reread old post, journal entries whatever from when you were motivated.
I reread my old post, my old methods, what was working for me and what wasn’t. It helped me reinstate forgotten pieces into my practice.
I remembered something I’d affirm before I tried shifting– to set the tone I guess. It’s small but it really helpful. Small things like “I’m pure consciousness” “’ll just have fun if I don’t shift it’s okay” “by the end of this I could have shifted already” it really helps alleviate pressure in my opinion and it helps with getting a clearer head on your shoulders.
The last affirmation especially it helps you not worry about the little things it helps make shifting not so big stressful event and instead something more natural.
I remembered how I’d say them. I wouldn’t say them like I wasn’t in my train of thought as in this identity thinking the thoughts but instead as a being behind the thoughts. Like I was gently reminding myself instead of stating it blankly like a robot.
Enjoy your visualizations.
Guys we all know how important and how at length visualizing is talked about- If you’re gunna feel pressure to visualize while shifting atleast try and enjoy it for god’s sake!
You don’t have to see things vividly you just have to feel them. And if you enjoy visualizing if you enjoy the process of shifting then not shifting won’t feel like such a big deal because atleast you had fun.
I love daydreaming– I even got a nickname for it (space cadet Sofi) so I truly enjoy visualizing for my method because then it’s not daydreaming it’s remembering, it’s planning, it’s real, it’s solid.
I’m not even that good at seeing the things, when I’m awake I’m at level 3 of the Apple test thingy, it’s only when it’s at night and I’m thoroughly relaxed my fantasies come to life.
And I feel closer to shifting when I’m immersed in my visualization. Last night I thought of this delicious pool scenario with my s/o that had like made my heart beat at 100 pounds a minute. I could feel everything! It was incredible- so when I didn’t shift last night it wasn’t that big of a deal because atleast I had ALOT of fun.
This helps. You know the quote insanity is trying the same thing and expecting a different result?
Well if you’re not shifting from the same method you found from a random person on the internet 2.5 years ago– and you keep trying expecting to have a different outcome: YOU’RE INSANE.
Shifting isn’t this set in stone thing, it’s not a math equation where if you just put the variables in the correct order you’ll get the desired answers. It’s fluid, it’s instinctual, it’s natural. What works for others might not work for you but it’s a good place to start.
And notice how I said start and not try indefinitely? If you don’t like a part of you’re method, if at night when you try it a certain steps feels awkward or gets you out of the state, If something removes you from the immersion: then take a note of it and the next day change it.
If you notice something works for you particularly well? Think of how to add it to other parts!
I did this and noticed most of the methods I liked had the same 4 elements.
This helps. You know the quote insanity is trying the same thing and expecting a different result?
So in my own method I want to try something a little different then usual. And that motivates me to try tonight because I want to see how it’ll feel, if my plan will work.
I’ll set my intention before I try and shift through my affirmations, I’ll visualize until I get tired of it, I’ll meditate by counting my breathing and I’ll either fall asleep while counting or fall asleep after but in that space between I’ll let go.
So anyways I hoped this helped SOMEBODY out there with SOME-PART of thier journey. I know these little lessons have really helped me- even if not succeed to atleast enjoy the race to the finish line.
So I hope you all enjoyed reading this and good-luck on your journeys!!!
