The way I communicate is by saying "ok dude!" to express disagreement and "whatever" when you really crossed the line and I don’t want to talk to you ever again.
Convo between me and my mom
Me: so you know how I just kind of shut off any negative emotions sometimes?
Mom: yeah
Me: apparently happens to people with trauma
Mom: well you definitely have trauma
Me stares
Mom stares back: you've had trauma in life
Me: I mean yeah I know but-
Mom staring at me: ...
Me: ok yeah
Me.

God is beyond our five senses. His ways are beyond our capacity or ability to conjure up. And yet, we have blocked the knowing of God, or at least limited it, by either our bodies or our souls. As our five senses engage with the world around us, we expect that is how we are to engage with God. So we look for Him in ways we can see, touch, or comprehend. All the while we shut off the connection within our spirit that He longs to make.
