Non-Canon Ships: Jace and Simon
This seems very out of character for both of them but I have gotten multiple requests for this. I like them platonic so much more and think they have a great friend ship. if you want platonic, I wrote that, click here. This also appeals to both book and show fans. Enjoy!
Let’s say they fall in love during that part of City of Fallen Angels when Jace is staying at Simon’s apartment. They are both single.
They kind of start dating without realizing it. They just go out to dinner and walk in the park and are kind of flirting.
They spend a lot of time together and eventually Izzy suspects Jace has feelings for him but doesn’t say anything. She is just happy Jace has a life outside of the institute and shadowhunting.
There are so many different directions I could go from here so I might make another one of these in the future.
They are sitting on the couch one night, Jace had pretty much moved in at this point and Jordan bought another apartment closer to the praetor because it is convenient to my plot.
They were sitting kind of close for friends, they had sort of been more than friends for a few weeks now. Simon asks Jace to go to his cousin’s wedding with him. Jace says yes. He knows that now would probably be a good time to define their relationship.
“Are we dating or...?” and Simon just kind of kisses him on impulse. They end up kissing for a considerable amount of time.
They had a great time at Simon’s family wedding, you know, for a wedding. Simon’s sister was glad to finally meet Jace and is happy Simon found someone he loves.
Izzy is the first person Jace tells about his relationship. She is super happy and excited and wants to know how they got together, “was he romantic” stuff like that.
After the events of City of Heavenly Fire, they end up getting a small house in Brooklyn that is close enough for them to still work at the institute. They were tired and wanted to live the ‘low stress, avoid going to hell’ lifestyle for a while.
This one is mostly for the TV show but Simon singing while Jace plays the piano on a lazy weekend.
In canon, Jace loves the green house at the institute so I headcanon that they plant a small garden.
They play lots of video games together and Simon teaches Jace how to play all of his favorite games.
I think they could actually be a couple, Simon comments on Jaces appearance A LOT in the books, even The Bane Chronicles which are not even about him.
I also think that if Cassie went the route of making them a couple it would have to be kind of like Rainbow Rowell’s Simon Snow books and how Simon and Baz got together, except Jace would be Simon Snow and Simon would be Baz if that makes any sense.
Disclaimer: I always have to put these or y’all get offended I didn’t write them as straight. This is just one take on the books and a possibility if the characters were put into an alternate universe.
