The Song of Glory - Episode 1
This was recommended by a friend, she says the subtitles are slow to come so I will at least watch one episode before applying to join the subtitling team and hopefully get in. We will see. I am happy to have another historical Chinese drama to watch, these are most definitely my favorites and I need more of them in my life. Always.
I must say, that girl is beautifuuuuul. Like really gorgeous. At first I thought they may have been prostitutes, because they are all girls putting on make up, but then. Some other girls come in panicked because the minister Lu is coming. But gorgeous girl says to calm down, because they were waiting for him and that night they will dance for him. So then it means they are dancers, some sort of performers. One thing is weird about their dance though: it is exactly the same as a dance that was danced in the palace, however after a background check, they all are itinerant artists, none come from the palace. On the upper floor, there’s the prince Peng Cheng having a drinking. He seems to be sick and the concern of his domestics bothers him.
When the performance is over, pretty girl is still over there dancing and minister Lu comes to find her. She set up that dance to make him come and it worked. She’s very honest about it. She knows of that dance because of her father, back then an artist at the palace. He was so impressed by “Sending off the army” that he drew all the movements while he kept thinking about it. She wants him to help her get closer to the Prince Peng Cheng. He kind of wants her for himself, but then she tells if he wants power and riches, maybe it could be nice to have an ally closer to the prince. He tells her they’ll talk again when she’s famous around the world.
If I understand properly, I am to lazy to replay it again, she is planning on assassinating somebody doing evil. The thing is... I am not sure if it’s the minister Lu or the Prince Peng Cheng. Anyways, she only has one chance to do it and she should not let revenge consume her too much. When her elder brother (but like... in arms, not a real brother) calls them to retreat, they have to retreat. Okay so the next scene explains it better to me. She wants to kill Prince Peng Cheng. Her master told her her parents were dead because of him. And... that playing in the bath was... very fake but... that other girl, A’Nu is also so gorgeous omg. So many pretty girls!!
Minister Lu goes to see the prince Peng Cheng as he heard the physician was coming to examine his condition. But... there’s something wrong. When the servant gives a tissue to the prince, there’s already blood on it and when he takes it back, he says oh look, you’re coughing blood again, but the amount hasn’t change ever since he coughed in it .___. Is his disease all staged? Seems like it is. Minister Lu is a bad official and he and other officials keep on cumulating the bad evils, which prevents him from freeing the people from their sufferings. So he’s the good guy.
I guess we found A’Nu’s family. I don’t who is that lady and her other daughter, but the big sister has been kidnapped 18 years ago. Oh. So she’s the mother of the Prince. Oh well.
So the minister Lu invited the troop to dance at the birthday of the mother queen or something like that. It takes me time to figure out the right names, please bear with me. But they haven’t even started to dance and they are already taking out their killer weapons. The pretty girl wasn’t on stage, she comes from the roof and shoots at the Prince Peng Cheng, but the sixth little brother takes the blow from him and dies.
Prince Peng Cheng wants to take the opportunity to arrest minister Lu, but pretty girl sends him a sword like think and minister Lu saves the prince so he doesn’t have a choice but to give him a chance to prove himself. He escapes with his army and pretty girl chases them. She almost manages to get him, but the prince is a good fighter I guess because he can even catch the blade between his fingers. Then his guard comes and tells him to run away while he engages with the assassin pretty girl.
I must say. The assassins did a pretty good job. They had everything backed up. So many people infiltrated. They even knew he would hide in the library and they made it sure it would burn down. I wonder how he will survive this.
Oh no. A’Nu is dying and trying to sacrifice herself to let pretty girl live. She gives her her bracelet so she can find her family for her. Nooo. No dying yet please. She was so cute and wanted to get married with the brother TT
And then... that’s annoying, the episode doesn’t seem to have a ending ost so I didn’t see the last seconds because of the automated play next episode thingy. Somebody comes and tells her to go. And that’s how it ends.
Damn. That is some DRAMA. This is so good, I am very impressed. That fighting scene with the drums. So gorgeous. I enjoyed it so much. I am really curious how things are going to turn out with this. That was somehow extraordinary.
