Pocket Monsters Sun & Moon: Appreciation Week, Day 2: Your favorite characters - Bonus round!
Acerola
She’s one of my favourite characters from the games, and I’m thoroughly happy with how she was handled in Pokeani. Fun, caring, mysterious, not scared of a single ghost. I’m really happy to have seen more of her after her Ula’ula Arc debut, and be an excellent match-up for Kaki in the League. Already miss her and her shenanigans with Kuchinashi/Nanu.

S&M131′s preview!
SM131 is finally here! I’ve literally been counting down the days until this episode aired. 💖
SM131 discussion
I maybe be wrong here, but when Rowlet flew up to Decidueye, it kind of sounds like Rowlet is saying Decidueye’s Japanese name, “Junaiper”. I don’t know how it could, because unlike Chatot and Meowth, I don’t think Pokemon in the anime can say anything other than their own names. But when you consider that in SM132, Rowlet will be wearing a Decidueye like cape, could Rowlet possibly be wanting to be like a Decidueye? I kind of hope not, because it seems weird that it wants to be like one, while it’s holding onto an Everstone. Sure, Rowlet might not know what its Everstone does, but if it wants to be a Decidueye, why continue to have it have the Everstone. As shown in sponsors section of SM132′s preview, Rowlet is still using it and is still using Seed Bomb. If Rowlet didn’t say “Junaiper”, then there might not be much to this, and the cape looking like a Decidueye cape might not mean that it wants to be like one, but I’ve heard Rowlet’s cry before and suddenly that cry kind of sounded like “Junaiper” to me, with the “er” bit sounding just like Rowlet’s usual cry.
I don’t know about you guys, but I love this scene a lot. It’s simple, yet so powerful for me, in a way that it realistically shows what to do when nervous: Take a deep breath! And Satoshi, of all people, is saying this line. Which makes me adore him even more.
Mamane’s been portrayed as the kind of character who doesn’t like going into the unknown that easily as say, Satoshi, Lilie or Suiren do (so many episodes focus on this trait of him). So it makes even more sense that he’d be nervous about his first official battle against someone like Matsurika. It’s an unknown territory for him, and before this he’s only had one battle where he had to strategize more. Him admitin the nervousness, getting the perfect advice of taking a deep breath, and it helping him calm down is a perfect way to tell people with constant nervousness and anxiety issues to do exactly this: deep breath taking.
It’s a small scene, but it means a lot to me. Mamane is possibly one of the most relatable characters of Alola Squad for me, for reasons mentioned above. And I look forward to seeing how he’ll finish his League journey.
Pocket Monsters Sun & Moon: Appreciation Week, Day 3: Favourite Pokémon from the Main Cast
Kaki/Kiawe’s Alolan Garagara/Marowak
A Pokémon I used to not bother much with, instantly became a fav of mine during its debut week, and grew to hold a deep tight spot in my heart (to the point where I ended up using Alolan Garagara in my LGE playthrough)! Kaki’s Garagara especially has so much personality, fits perfectly with a cool but dorky person like Kaki, and brings so much life to the show. I love pretty much everyone in the main Pokémon Cast (cough Mokuroh and Nagisa the Eevee cough), but Garagara shines through to Top 1 spot.
