Im bored so here have this piece i made of my ocs (under cut)
Arcelia was bored out of her mind. She didn't like shopping- especially in *boring* places where she was supposed to sit still. She'd much rather play. But she needed to tag along to get errands done- her measurements at the tailor's, checking sword weights, and then all of Captain's work stuff.
The sun was high in the sky, but it didn't matter. She stood by the displays of a jewelry shop, waiting for Captain to be done with his discussion with new merchants. She stared through the glass, admiring the gems and metals.
She always liked pretty things- shining and gorgeous.
A boy popped up, leaning over the glass display. His dark blonde curls fell over his hazel eyes and freckles splattered across his face. He smiled wide, one of his teeth missing, “Hi! I’m Alexis! What’s your name?”
She was surprised, but she smiled back, “Arcelia.”
Arcelia was happy to find something to do. She was even happier to have made a new friend. They talked while she waited, but making the time seem shorter.
This shop was Alexis' mom's. She was the lady talking to Captain, actually. Alexis told her about the shop, showing her their very best jewelry with childlike enthusiasm that was reciprocated by Arcelia's innocent taste for pretty-looking things.
Alexis was pointing bracelets in the display when he stopped suddenly. He leaned in conspiratorially, nearly close enough to slide off the top of display where he sat, and whispered to Arcelia, "Do you want to see something?"
She was hooked. Secrets were tempting to children her age, and she couldn't help but get excited, "Yeah!"
Alexis nodded, disappearing behind the glass counter for a moment before climbing back up. He held something out, showing it to her. It was a flower, sculpted out of stained glass. It caught the light and sparkled, sending small, soft rays of light in all directions. The stem was a gorgeous green that branched into well-detailed leaves and twirled onto the blush-pink petals. Arcelia gasped, "It's *beautiful!*"
Alexis grinned, "I know right!" He twirled the flower in his hands for a moment. He looked at her, and hesitated. "Um...you can have it." He stretched his arm out to her, expecting her to take the flower from him.
"But it's yours," Arcelia reasoned, looking at the flower and then the boy. He shook his head, insistently, his eyes glittering and his cheeks slightly pink, "I want you to have it! It's fine!"
Arcelia thought for a second. The offer was tempting, and she really liked the flower. It wouldn't be unfair, right? She took the flower from his hands, her face feeling weird and hot, "Thank you!"
She always liked pretty things- shining and gorgeous.
He helped her up onto the counter, where they shared the candy Captain bought for her, and continued to talk and play. The grown-ups were still wrapping up their conversation, but Arcelia didn't care how long they took anymore. It just meant more time for her and Alexis to talk.
