🎼 Frequency in Music & the Universe ✨
A weird mix of music history & notes on the spiritual use of the Schumann resonance & Solfeggio frequencies in music but i here it is anyway haha ✨

It is impossible that so swift a motion of such enormous bodies [as the sky] be sound-less, all the more so since the courses of the stars are blended with so fine a harmony, that we can know of nothing equally combined and harmonized. 🌙

Quick Music History Lesson。⁺⋆⁺。・✧・。⁺⋆⁺。・
Modern western music practice tunes instruments with the 'Equal Temperament' system where the 12 notes of the octave are tuned to a standard relative pitch ~A4 at 440.0Hz has been the standard since the mid 20th Century ~ with equal spacing between each note.
Prior to this, tuning varied depending on region and often genre; it is accepted that standard pitch in the Baroque era was around A4: 415Hz, approximately a semitone lower than modern tuning (excluding French Baroque repertoire which was often 392Hz; a semitone lower again) basically because lower frequencies prevented the wood of harpsichords becoming deformed and it allowed for a richer sound on the string instruments of the time.
They also used Just Intonation instead of Equal Temperament, where notes were tuned specifically to one note, meaning that the Equal Temperament system is more of a compromise and all intervals other than the octave (eg A to A) are mistuned. Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier was composed to demonstrate flexibility of the 'well-tempered' instrument.
Therefore, there is a lot of debate over how early music is meant to be performed and tuned, and the earlier the music such as medieval/Gregorian chant prior to modern music notation, there is even more uncertainty over whether what we hear now is how this music was intended to sound.
Boethius' De Institutione Musica⋆⁺。・✧・。⁺⋆⁺。・
Boethius (6th Century CE) stated that there were 3 kinds of music: the imperceptive music of the universal spheres; the spiritual and somatic music of the body and the audible music of the voice and instrument. This text was used to explain the relationship between music, ourselves and the universe for over a thousand years and as late as the 18th Century in the Oxford curriculum.
There can be no doubt that the unity of our body and soul seems to be somehow determined by the same proportions that join together and unite the harmonious inflections of music.
The Schumann Resonance & 432 Hz ⋆⁺。・✧・。⁺
Refers to the electromagnetic resonances between the Earth's surface and ionosphere generated by lightning discharges, resonating between 7.86Hz and 8Hz. Schumann described this low frequency as the Earth's heartbeat.
Much of the support for the spiritual use of frequencies is that the frequency of 432Hz is divisible by the higher range of the Schuman Resonance of 8Hz, therefore is in tune with the heartbeat of the earth.

The Solfeggio Frequencies ・✧・。⁺⋆⁺。・✧・。⁺⋆⁺。・
The solfeggio Frequencies are a scale supposedly to have been incorporated in sacred music such as Gregorian and Sanskrit chants. These specific frequencies are meant to have healing/beneficial properties in comparison to the modern concert pitch of 440Hz
✧・。⁺⋆⁺。・✧・。⁺⋆⁺。・These ancients knew that the total structure of our soul and body consists of musical harmony✧・。⁺⋆⁺。・✧・。⁺⋆⁺。✧・。⁺⋆⁺。・
Much of this is idea was based on Dr Glen Rein's study on the impact of music upon DNA which found that the two chant types increased UV absorption by 5-9%; 'resonating' with human DNA
There is currently very limited scientific support for Solfeggio frequencies and therefore they should not be expected to have incredible healing powers; however music regardless of frequency is healing and beneficial and the intent to heal and provide clarity behind solfeggio-tuned music could be just as effective.

Keep in mind there is limited evidence that composers/musicians other than Verdi ever utilised or tuned to 432Hz (which he used for ease of the opera singers coz believe me a even semitone can make a massive difference haha). Claims that it was utilised by ancient musicians are untrustworthy as the earliest technology for measuring precise frequency or ‘cycles per second’ as it was known was in 1834 and the first tuning fork was only invented in 1711 but it would be cool if they had
Listening to Solfeggio Frequencies。⁺⋆⁺。・✧・。
💫 432Hz is one of the more common frequencies, meaning that there are many 'remixes' or performances of known (Classical or otherwise) works at this frequency in addition to the many specific meditation music playlists available at this frequency.
💫 Many people whose spiritual practice involves solfeggio frequencies suggest that the effects are only felt over a few weeks or longer period of time and listen for at least 10 minutes a day.
💫 Solfeggio frequencies, particularly those associated with chakras aid meditation as many frequencies focus on creating the harmony and clarity that is sought through meditation.

How does it happen that when someone hears a pleasant song with his ears and mind, also his body involuntarily responds with some motion similar to that of the song? And how does it happen that this same person can enjoy some melody he has already heard merely by recalling it in his memory? Thus from all these examples it appears to be beyond doubt that music is so naturally a part of us that we cannot be without it, even if we so wished.⁺⋆⁺。・✧・。⁺⋆⁺。・✧・。⁺⋆⁺。✧・。
