Okadiah: What's wrong today?
You look as if you've seen a ghost
Some wine and say what's going on
Kanan: A ghost you say, a ghost maybe
She was just like a ghost to me
One minute there, then she was gone
Peter: I'm not completely useless, I can be used as a bad example
One day more to revolution, We will nip it in the bud! We’ll be ready for these heroes, They’ll be shattered in the mud!

Javert moodboard for @squips-ship!
Steve: Bruce, you’re late.
Clint: What’s wrong today? You look as if you’ve seen a ghost.
Tony: Some wine and say what’s going on!
Bruce: A ghost you say.... a ghost maybe. She was just like a ghost to me. One minute there, then she was gone.
Certainly, and we insist upon this point, he had not yielded without resistance to that monster, to that infamous angel, to that hideous hero, who enraged almost as much as he amazed him. A score of times he had been tempted to fling himself upon [Marius von Raum], to seize him and devour him, that is to say, to arrest him.
Empty Chairs at Empty Tables
*The war is over. The Empire has fallen. Linhardt is the last of the Black Eagles alive. While the rest of Byleth’s army celebrate the defeat of Nemesis, Linny decides to go to dig up some old memories.*
*He slowly walks into the Black eagle Classroom. It is quiet and dusty, and filled with screaming silence. Linhardt moves in, running his hand over a dust covered desk and takes a seat in the middle. A single tear runs down his face*
Linhardt: There’s a grief that can’t be spoken. / There’s a pain, goes on and on. / Empty Chairs at Empty Tables / Now my friends, are dead, and gone.
*He casts his eyes about the room, more tear welling in his eyes*
Linhardt: Here they talked of revolution / Here it was they lit the flame / Here they sang about tomorrow / But tomorrow never came.
*He seems to see the vaguest outlines of his friends as they were before the war, smiling and laughing and filled with hope*
Linhardt: From the table in the corner / They could see a world reborn / And they rose with voices ringing / And I can hear them now! / The very words that they had sung / Became their last communion.
*The shades fade away leaving Linhardt alone*
Linhardt: On this lonely barricade... at dawn.
*Linhardt begins to cry in earnest, fighting back his sobs*
Linhardt: Oh my friends, my friends forgive me. / That I live and you are gone! / There’s a grief that can be spoken, / There’s a pain goes on and on!
*The shades of the Black Eagles seem to appear around Linhardt, trying in vain to comfort their friend*
Linhardt: Phantom faces at the window, / Phantom Shadows on the floor, / Empty Chairs at Empty Tables / Where my friends will meet no more!
*Linhardt stands angrily, dissipating the shades and he goes to the front of the classroom, leaning on the teacher’s desk, unable to face the empty room any longer*
Linhardt: Oh my friends, my friends! / Don’t ask me... what your sacrifice was for!
*Linhardt slines to his knees, the phantom Black Eagles seemingly behind him, wrapping their arms around him. Sometimes it seems to be Caspar, or Petra, or even Edelgard herself.*
Linhardt: Empty Chairs... at empty tables... where my friends will sing no more.
*The shades fade away, and Linhardt is alone. Or perhaps... he always was.*
