Sure, he would prefer to have been the one to buy it for you, even if only for the sake of looking like a generous husband.

But the necklace is indeed pretty. It shimmers in the light, and reflects into your eyes. In fact, the blue stone practically seems to glow...

Wait.

Loki’s face goes pale. “(Name), where did you get that?”

“I bought it today. There was a kiosk at the mall where they were selling jewelry that supposedly had rare space gems or something. I doubt that’s true, but I still liked it.”

Loki has no idea how to tell you that the “rare space gem” in your new necklace is in fact a chunk of the Tesseract.

As a fan of Steven Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was only natural to want to try to combine the two. This is my interpretation of what the Tesseract, the Space Stone, would look like as a Gem from Steven Universe.
