Romeo is clumsy and should not touch things

-Romeo tried on specs glasses one time -Getting them on was fine -Seeing through them was impossible "HOW ARE YOU SO BLIND SPECS" -"I don't know...genetics? Ask Davey" -But when Romeo took them off he dropped them. -Which was fine -Till he went to pick them up, stepped forward a Lil, and accidentally stepped on them -He snapped the frame, and one of the lenses cracked -"SHIT NO OH SHIT NO OH GOD NO" -"Romeo please tell me that wasn't my glasses?" -"ermmmmm" -"fuck" -mush picked them up so Romeo couldn't do anymore damage and put the pieces into specs hand -"someone get me to the nurses office, she'll know what to do" -the walk to the nurses office was long -"how can someone so blind not have a spare pair of glasses" -"when said so blind person paid a few hundred dollars for one pair" -mush piped up then, "how does someone so blind, pay a lot of money for glasses then let Romeo anywhere near them?" -it was a very long walk to the nurses office -the glasses weren't able to be fixed, so specs ended up having to use his old stick (I can't remember the exact name sorry) -Romeo started a go fund me, when he realised just how much they cost, and that even with all the money all their friends put in, they didn't have enough -he put up a video of specs dancing saying that he couldn't do this without his glasses and how he really needed them (which he did) -only took 4 days after he put the go fund me up to get the money. -specs was very confused when he got told about it, but got the new glasses -Romeo was not allowed to touch them ever. And if he tried was given the receipt, which specs kept on him at all times for that reason

Hey hey, what if everyone was still angry at Jack Kelly after the strike?

-What if Jack saw Crutchie was out the refuge, everything was sorted, and he felt his work was done. but he had cause a lot of pain during the strike; a lot of people were still angry at him, and were not going to let him forget it

-So after a few weeks, he left. went to Santa Fe. didn’t come back

-Although the strike helped all the newsies in the end, a lot of boroughs had hurt kids; meaning they were angry at Jack and therefore Manhattan

-Even when Jack left, the Manhattan newsies got the blame, even when accompanied by Race, any of them struggled to go near brooklyn without at least a little soaking

-Any friends they had in other boroughs had cut them out

-Newsies from outside Manhattan would come and sell on their turf now, because it was Manhattan against the rest of NY, the group wouldn’t win

-Imagine how heartbreaking it had been for the newsies group to start a strike, lose their leader, get him back, win the strike, loser their leader and still have everyone hate them?

-Imagine the newsies group strated breaking apart, it was hard to make money with papes when they were so many other kids taking their spots, so they’d find another job, anything where they can afford to eat. 

-Imagine Davey going home to his parents every night with a new bruise and no money.

-Imagine crutchie trying to gather the money to go to Santa Fe and kick Jacks ass then stay there with him

-Imagine Race trying to invoke his “honorary brooklyn” title, to be rejected by them all

-Imagine specs needing new specs cause the Delancy’s broke his ones, and being unable to afford it, even with the help of his newsie group

-Imagine Romeo slowly losing the want to flirt, because he couldnt do it when he hadnt eaten in 4 days 

-Imagine Les sitting at home, watching Davey come back day after day, not allowed to go out with him. Imagine him being so angry at Jack, giving Davey letter after letter to send to him, begging Jack to come home, but no one knew his address.

-Imagine all the Manthattan newsies unable to make amends even when it wasn’t their fault Jack screwed everyone over. Imagine them being so angry but having no solution to it all. 

-Imagine Jack sat in Santa Fe, hating every second of it. None of it living up to his expectations, but doesn’t feel like he can go back to NY. So he stays, doing whatever jobs he can get; hating himself for leaving NY, hoping that at least by him leaving the rest of the newsies would be okay.

The Newsies and Snapchat

Jack is constantly sending terrible selfies to Davey and Crutchie. On his snapchat story he mostly posts his art, or videos of Crutchie and Davey being cute.

Davey doesn’t really use his snapchat, he only got it because of Jacks unending nagging. He sends nice pictures in replies, or whatever is infront of him as he’s not the biggest fan of selfies

Crutchie takes pictures of Everything. pretty flower? Will be snapchatted and sent to Everyone. pretty Davey and/or Jack? Will be snapchatted and sent to Everyone. His snapchat story is random pictures and videos of nice things

Race snapchats his life. Everything goes on his story. And Will get annoyed at you if your break the streak. he lit sends ‘streaks’ snaps every. single. day. to Everyone. prepare for hell if you don’t reply, just give in and send the damn streaks. Accidentally sent a dick pic as streaks once, instead of going to just Spot cause he was drunk. has never taken one since.

Spot only posts on his snapchat story at parties, as he likes to look back and embarrass everyone, including himself. but he has so much blackmail against so many people because of it. Otherwise, it is only used to check out the filters and send ‘streaks’ back to Race. Is a serial screenshotter of terrible selfies.

Mush is constantly using filters on snapchat, and sends them all to Blink. If its a particularly good one they might send them to other people. Constantly uses the dog filter, Blink tries to hate them for it, but can’t because Mush is just too flipping cute

Blink will slyly take filter pictures of random people, or will sit in the corner of a room full of the newsies and sneakily take terrible photos, sending them to everyone but that person. Very rarely posts on his story, unless its to show a funny moment in the group

Katherine doesn’t care for snapchat much, only got it because Crutchie asked her to. Sends the occasional photo to Sarah. She does enjoy the filters, but gets annoyed when “the makeup on this damn filter is better than my best!” Is a serial screenshotter of other peoples stories

Sarah takes so many terrible selfies, but will only send them to Davey or Katherine. enjoys the filters and uses the filters for every social media profile picture. uses her snapchat story mostly on date nights with Katherine cause she likes showing off her amazing girlfriend

Specs is perpetually in trouble with Race for not replying to his streaks, for about 3 weeks he didn’t even open Race’s snapchats, but continued to post dance practices on his story. That ended after Spot threatening to break one of Specs’ toes cause he’d had enough of Race’s bitching. When he gets to go to Romeo’s drag performances he will post a lot of it on his snapchat, as most of the group don’t get to go very often due to college work

Romeo posts so much on his story, but very rarely sends a snap to just one person. “If it’s good enough for one person, it’s good enough for everyone. plus I look banging in this!” Most of his snaps are selfies, some during getting ready for a performance. He also posts a lot of Specs’ dancing.

I just have this head canon that Spots like, really smart? Like in modern AUs he’s valedictorian and in like the canon era he’s like, saying things and Davey goes “How do you know that? I though you didn’t go to school?” (Idk if that’s canon or not???) and Spot just goes “You talk a lot mouth.” And walks away?

I love this! (and I’m sorry it’s taken so long for a reply, haven’t felt creative in a while)

Modern AU Smart Spot - 

(idk what a valedictorian so I’m just gonna say he gets top marks at college and does a lot of extra classes)

-no one (but Race) knows he takes so many classes, at least 3 more than Davey per semester. 

-they know he’s smart but no one realises How smart, but know that you do Not bring it up or you will have at least 1 (one) bruise.

-Davey and Spot used to play chess together....they played 3 games, all of which Spot one and Davey threw the board at a wall before storming out of Spot and Races room.

-Race is constantly confused about how Spot does all his classes, and has a social life, volunteers for college groups, all whilst being able to get enough sleep. Race has the bare minimum, a small social life that’s limited to the group, and his blood is 60% caffeine by this point

- Any time someone needs help with an essay or assignment, they tend to go to Davey. However there was one time Davey needed help with an assignment because he had been off sick and missed 3 classes, so he went to Spot; the day before it was due, as Davey wanted to try and do it himself but after 3 meltdowns in 2 hour Jack marched him to Spot to get the help.

Canon time Smart Spot AU - 

- Spot steals, okay, he steals a lot. But the main thing he steals is books.

- and in his room in Brooklyn, there is tonnes of them. 

- There’s a few of his favourites hidden on the docks so that when he needs to think about something, and everyone buggers off because, y’know, it’s Spot; he can read about his favourite birds.

- He used to prefer fiction, but once he hit 8/9 years old, non-fiction was his go to.

- Animals in particular

- He’s also Really Really good at maths. He’s the leader of a Lot of kids who bring in money, need places to sleep, and he looks after them really well.

- The first 6 months or so he would use a pencil and paper to figure it all out, but he ran out quite a few times and figured that it was just easier doing it in his head. 

- 10/10 times he gets it all right in his head

Basically Spot Conlon is smart as heck, and will out smart pretty much anyone :)

Reasons why board games are no longer allowed to be played

- Davey is too good at scrabble...also monopoly, connect 4, chess, snakes and ladders, guess who, cluedo, any board game you can think of; strategy, luck or otherwise based Davey is going to win it

-Jack won’t care cause he’s heart eyes for Davey,

- Race will definitely care and has flipped the games, tables the game were on and tables from another room after flipping the board over.

(After an incident where a table got flipped and 14 cups were smashed, 3 people got cut by said cups, and the carpet stained by juice; the table was replaced with a v v heavy one that was bolted to the floor)

- Spot will start shouting at Davey for cheating; even though everyone else is cheating to try and win. It will end in Spot calling Davey a Not Nice Name, storming into the kitchen and eating left overs till he calms down. 

- Romeo has cried on multiple occasions from losing 2 player board games to Davey, completely confused at how his [terrible] technique for connect 4 couldn’t work. 

(One time, Davey let him win, as Romeo would not let Davey leave till he won a game, and after 24 wins, Davey had had enough. Romeo wouldn’t shut up about it for weeks till Spot told him that Davey had let him win and forced Davey to confess)

- Specs gave up after one game of snakes and ladders as Race got angry, flipped a table, and accidentally gave Specs a bloody nose in the process.

- Sarah learnt from a young age, that there was no point in trying to beat Davey. “Don’t need that kinda stress thanks, I’ll stick to watching all hell break loose”

- Crutchie spent a lot of time in hospital when he was younger, and it was constant board games. So whenever he sees someone bring one out, he makes a swift exit (But 100% texts Davey encouragements)

-The last time a board game was played in the group was the first one Katherine joined in on. Davey and Kath played chess.

-the group use Davey playing chess as a baptism of fire for anyone interested in playing board games with them. Due to how quick and painful it is.

- However; Katherine beat Davey. It was a long game, but when she called check-mate. All. Hell. Broke. Loose.

  Davey couldn’t believe his eyes, the group were sat around before, waiting for Kath to get angry but were just in utter shock, Race jumped up and stated swearing in disbelief, and Kath had no clue what the hell was going on.

- They found Davey three hours later going over what happened, with a cookie in one hand (given by Jack to cheer him up...three hours ago) and a pencil rapidly writing down every move, in the other.

- From there, the board games were not allowed to be used. Especially if Davey was going to be around.
