Also like bullshit that it makes for a "complicated character", OR that complicated characters are somehow better
i feel like one day i’ll have to buckle down and write a Medium article about The Curse of the Complicated Character: Heroes, Antiheroes, and Why IDGAF About Angry Sadman #432

Not sure on the imagery, but the little scenes looking pastoral at first but having a grimmer meaning may be inspired by memorial quilts and memorial murals, which you've probably seen a lot of - each artist quilts or paints a section, often clearly delineated but thematically connected. The imagery itself reminds me of some fake children's book but I can't think of what, Bosch inspired probably
I don’t think I’ve seen a ton of memorial quilts, other than the AIDS quilt which I was exposed to quite a lot growing up in San Francisco -- memorial murals I probably have but can’t think of any off the top of my head. But there has been a lot of pastoral embroidery on my dash lately...

Okay, either I have seen something like this recently, or you just set off an intense moment of deja vu. Not the tapestry element, but the grim reaper and the slogan
I mean, it’s pretty much the ironic spirit of the age :D But if it is out there somewhere I’d like to see it.

Sounds fascinating. Sir Pterry would approve, I think.
Ahahaha, now I’m reminded of the shirt i owned as a teen which was Death captioned I COULD JUST MURDER A CURRY.

Okay that's eerie but also I would love to see it it sounds super fascinating. Dream art is so delightfully bizarre.
Honestly if I had the ability or skill I would try drawing it. I might give the cat-death image a try anyway.
spyderqueen replied to your post: <p>Hot take: I have never had a good waffle....
I had to think about this but ultimately while I’d rather have a mediocre pancake than a mediocre waffle, but I’ve had some truly AMAZING waffles in my life and I can’t think of any really amazing pancakes to that same level (outside of things they were topped with). but in an unknown situation I’ll default to pancakes because a mediocre waffle is just very sad
Now THIS I can agree with. Pancakes are always just, fine. I’ve never had one that made me think, “this is a meal I will remember” I don’t eat them because I rarely go for mediocrity in my food life (not NEVER, but rarely).
But waffles? Oh, waffles are a TIGHTROPE of a food, one one hand Glory! Joy! A crisp and light opening into the ideal of the world might be, if only we believe in the essential goodness of humanity, if only we put the work behind our words!
On the other hand, PAINFUL, AGONIZING, CRUSHING FAILURE. A bad waffle makes one question why flour, sugar, and indeed, the very concept of cooking over heat was ever invented.
But we dare! What if you fall, but oh my dear what if you FLY???

I feel like it should be named for a feature it doesn't have. I mean shellos doesn't have a shell, and gastrodon doesn't appear to have teeth...
That's an interesting point! Some of Gastrodon's dex entries say "Long ago, its entire back was shielded with a sturdy shell. There are traces of it left in its cells." So maybe Shellos used to have one as well? Here are their name origins, though:
