play wresting with ford (...or stan tbh!) would be so fun bc they are probably super strong - also hot???
I think play wrestling with Stan would be a lot more fun, because he's going to wind you up and reap the rewards. He knows exactly what to do to overpower you, but still leave you with enough room to get back at him. Stan strikes me as someone who's very good at the teasing give-and-take.
Ford would go one of two ways: he either just wants to win the match and pins you down with no way of getting free and then gloats about it, OR he turns it into a full on training session. He doesn't quite twig that you're doing a Duncan Norvelle style "Chase me! Chase me!" bit. It would take a couple of tries and some heavy handed coming onto him before he realises the angle you're going for. As soon as he figures it out, though, he gets all flustered and lets you do whatever you like. Bonus points if you tell him how strong he is and fawn over him a bit.
Stan what embarrassing story do you have about Ford?
Oh baby! Do I have a story! My brother isn’t the best at social cues and the whatnot. So one night while he and Mcgucket were doing the science-y thing, apparently ol’Mcgucket outright confessed to Ford. Ya know, grabbed him by the face, kissed him, said “I love you, Ford!” The whole nine-yards. And Ford responded with “i love you too Fidds, but now is not the time for friendly affection, we need to work on the portal!” Pointdexter told me about this one night when he was drunk. I don’t think he even remembers that I know. I’m still not sure if he understands that he got confessed to.
Honestly you antis are something else. Rhysand is NOT ABUSIVE. You read ACOMAF, yes? Tamlin never really cared for Feyre, he just used her to free him from his curse. And then he hurt Feyre over and over while claiming it was to “protect” her. Yeah, no. But Rhysand actually cares for Feyre. He only hurt her as a last resort, because he had to protect her and Velaris. And Rhys always takes time to consider her feelings, like in ACOSF he didn’t tell Feyre 1/2
2/2 because he wanted her to be happy. Rhys knew that telling Feyre she could die in childbirth would make her depressed. Rhysand has ALWAYS looked out for Feyre and her feelings, and he actually respects her as a person.
Let’s sort this out sentence by sentence.
Rhysand is NOT ABUSIVE.
He is though. He literally twisted feyre’s broken arm, drugged her, sexually assaulted her and was later excused for it - that should’ve warned you about the sort of person he is. and I will say this once: keeping medical information from a person is abuse, and yes it applies to pregnancy!!!
You read ACOMAF, yes? Tamlin never really cared for Feyre, he just used her to free him from his curse.
this is blatantly false though. I hate tam, but he did love feyre in book 1. like if you fail to realise that his character’s abusive nature literally came out of nowhere just like chaol’s characterisation was wrecked so that alien could have a romance with rowan, I don’t even know what to say. (keep in mind all of this is with respect to book 1, I do not condone tam’s treatment of feyre in book 2)
And then he hurt Feyre over and over while claiming it was to “protect” her.
the word you’re looking for is abuse, and yes I agree. literally never said otherwise. why are you dragging tam into a discussion about rice’s character anyway? is your standard of comparison that low?
But Rhysand actually cares for Feyre.
he’s literally her love interest in the books, istg, of course 70% of the rice content we get is legitimately about him being good and caring for feyre (or at least, the narrative trying to convince us that it’s the case). this doesn’t mean we can ignore the other 30%!!! him bargaining with mor’s abusers and being excused for it, his actions in book 1, keeping info about her pregnancy from her, slutshaming nesta and keeping info about her powers from her, failing to give feyre legitimate choices while claiming everything is her choice and really just convincing her to go along with all of his plans, making a suicide pact with a 22 year old, kinda stalking her when she was a human teen, etc.
He only hurt her as a last resort, because he had to protect her and Velaris.
idk what you’re talking about but if this is with reference to his actions under the mountain, please seek help. this sort of behaviour from a man is not okay!!! at the very least you have to agree that sarah made really disgusting plot choices and could’ve literally gone with anything else, but the problem with the s/jm fandom is that you guys refuse to accept that she’s a bad writer!! even after the shit-show that was acosf!!
And Rhys always takes time to consider her feelings, like in ACOSF he didn’t tell Feyre because he wanted her to be happy. Rhys knew that telling Feyre she could die in childbirth would make her depressed.
Again, please get help!!! that is not ‘consideration’. that. is. abuse. oh my god people literally think this is okay and are trying to rationalise it because they love s/jm’s book so much I -
sometimes I legitimately worry about the people reading these books...
Rhysand has ALWAYS looked out for Feyre and her feelings, and he actually respects her as a person.
child, respecting a person you supposedly love is the bare minimum
please don’t come back to my inbox with these horrible takes again
OH, DUDE - YOU ARE SO AWESOME????? I JUST- - WOW. YOURE SO COOL I WANNA BE LIKE YOU SO BAD! I WANT TO BE ABLE TO, LIKE, DO WHATEVER I WANT AND KILL PEOPLE! LIKE YOU! AND HAVE COOL SHADOW POWERS!! HSGFHAHTHSHRR YOU DONT GET THE RESPECT YOU DESERVE I STG >:/
You cannot be like me. No human can. I made unspeakable sacrifices to become who I am.
If the Stand + Ford were animals/had spirit animals what do you think they'd be?
Stanley would be a goat.
Goats are historically animals that are viewed as sineaters. The term scapegoat comes from the Jewish tradition of when people would basically confer all their sins to a goat and then push it off a cliff, therefore ridding them of sin. I think that fits him very well. See also: sacrificial goat.
Goats also represent curiosity and resilience, but this is often clouded by negative reputation. People are nervous of them because they can come across as off-putting and wild. They're also very clever, crafty little things!
Ford would be a stag.
Stags are regal animals. Ford is very proud and dominant in his surface personality, very strong willed, to a fault. Stags are leaders. They're domineering and possessive. They also represent a link between the spiritual world and the living. They're sort of in-between creatures. They have this connection with the supernatural and they walk the line of both worlds.
On top of that, stags are trophies. Hunters kill them, both for pleasure and for status. They're the trophy of Kings. People will mount their heads on the wall and point it out to everyone who comes into their home, regaling them with the stories of how they 'bravely' shot down a defenceless animal in its prime; as though they should be lauded for that. It's about what the stag brings for them--power.
I think you can see where I'm going with that one.
Not sure if you’ve been asked this one before, I know Stanley knows we like Ford but does he know that Ford likes us/reader?
Stan caught him looking once, which I went into a tiny bit here.
But he doesn't know the extent of Ford's affections at all. At the time, Stan thought it was just his brother checking Reader out casually, which is why he was so taken aback by it. Ford doesn't do that sort of thing, so to see him indulge was surprising.
I will say, however, that Stan has his suspicions and he's concerned. He knows Ford inside and out, and he's well aware of his nature. That's why he doesn't want them to become close in that kind of way. He can predict how it will affect Ford and he's afraid for the fragility of his mental state.
On top of that, he doesn't want Reader to experience the blow back of Ford's nature. It isn't really Ford's fault, of course, but he knows that it won't be pleasant because Ford will inevitably reject them and/or cause problems for them.
Stanley is fond of Reader and very, very protective of Ford. He thinks it's better to keep them apart in order to avoid a doomsday level fallout in which neither are technically at fault.
Wisdom and intelligence are two very different things. Intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to use said tomato in a fruit salad.
Ford has plenty of intelligence, but very little wisdom. Stan is the wise one of the two; he displays it much more than his brother does.
I think Ford has owlish qualities, but I don't believe he aligns wholly with the symbolism of the owl.
