please just rewatch s3 :-0 keep an eye out: even if joyce doesn't take his shit, he's still CONSTANTLY giving her shit.

also she objected to a date with him numerous times. she clearly wasn't over bob, and he tried to pressure her into getting over him. he even then says it's not a date which is when she finally agrees after tons of pressure. she keeps saying no and he keeps objecting to her response. that sounds kinda toxic to me. but we're all entitled to our own opinions.

why did everyone start hatting Joyce x Hopper 😭

i thought they were cute? Will going missing was the case that brought him back to life. He didn't want Joyce to suffer the way he had. He saw how deeply she loved her son he was willing to loose his reputation and his job for them. Like he's been her main "protector" the entire show. Without it being overbearing too, he never assumes she cant handle herself, he never makes her stay behind, he trusts her enough to bring her with him on all the dangerous missions. There's no one more capable or trustworthy in his mind to be his partner than her.

I can't really recall a scene where he's necessarily "toxic" or "abusive" towards her. He shouts at her sometimes but context is important in those scenes. She gets equally upset with him.

Every day I kinda of praise the fact Hopper was taken by the Russians instead of Joyce, not because I wanted Hopper to be taken by the Russians obviously, nor do I obviously want Joyce to get taken by the Russians either

But if it were hypothetically Joyce getting taken/"dying" then there is a scenario where Will and maybe even Jonathan would go back to Lonnie and that would of made their character arcs even more miserable than they already are with their trauma
