With death looming all around, we really never know when we'll have an opportunity to say the things we need to say. I share this video in the same spirit I've shared others; to express the sentiments of my heart and to inspire. If you know me well (or even if we just me), you know that I'm super morbidly obese. I've done a LOT to try to remedy this. I've dieted, had 85% of my stomach removed, punished my body with grueling exercise (I often overdid it in my zeal to lose weight), attended OA meetings, and so much more. I feel like I'm finally on the right path, but it's taken decades. I've gained as much as 200+ lbs, lost it, gained it back, then lost some more, then gained, then lost... These pictures show my "journeys". Some of you have been there since the beginning and you know that when I was smiling, I wasn't really smiling. You understand. My body has suffered. My heart is damaged. My joints are damaged. My mind is damaged. I haven't given up, though. I can't. I'm still here. I hear of people like me dying all the time, but I keep waking up, so I keep fighting, by God's grace. Please. Be good to yourself, no matter where you are in this journey. Everything you do has lasting effects. Every thought, every word, every drink, every meal, every bite. Doesn't matter what size you are, either. Thin folks are dying because of poor choices, too. I'll be 43 in November. I am metabolically chanllenged. I don't know why this had to happen to me. I'm not sure why God has allowed this, but I've also made some devastating choices. I feel that my life could have gone so much differently; better jobs, more success, stronger, healthier, and more fulfilling relationships, less pain and trauma, but it didn't and there must be a reason, even if it was just to write this for someone.
