A lesson I learned last week to start your Monday morning....
Last Wednesday, I visited my chiropractor, Aras Kvedaras. Aras is unique in his approach, as he tends to do as little as he has to to fix a problem. He rarely ever performs adjustments, but if he does, he does it once and provides you with an exercise, movement or stretch which will maintain what he did, in order to avoid future adjustments!
On to my lesson:
Aras found that the outer hamstring muscle on my left side (the biceps femoris) was not working properly.
That was interesting, because most people who come to see me have strong outer hamstring muscles and weak inner hamstring muscles.
I have been training the inner hamstring muscles much more frequently on myself than the outside, and as a result, my outer hamstrings became the weaker ones.
*Lessons learned?
-Work on your problems just enough to allow you to focus on your goals!
-If you always think you have inadequate abilities to really excel and push the envelope, then you never will!
Good Luck!
For those of you who have been training properly and still can't figure out why your shoulder hurts, neck is stiff, or lower back always seems to give out, Give Aras a call!
