How it makes him flush slightly. James loves Regulus's laugh. Regulus hates James's laugh. He hates that James's eyes twinkle, that he laughs loudly, how it lights up a room. How it makes Regulus forget the bad things for a moment. He hates James's laugh, he hates that he loves it.

That was it. He had done it. 6 years of wooing a certain redhead and finally getting her went all down the drain. He had ended it with Lily. Who could've seen it coming? It was as if the entirety of Hogwarts had been watching when the golden boy and the brightest witch of their year had finally got together. They were the perfect couple who were supposed to get married and live happily ever after but James had ruined it all. Oh, the look on Lily's face when he told her was not that of anger or even sadness. It was of confusion. She couldn't even fathom why James would do such a thing. They were doing great, sure there were squabbles here and there but nothing big enough that could have caused the end of their relationship. Little did she know, it was all because of a gorgeous Slytherin-haired boy who had somehow get James Potter so infatuated with him that James would always look for his name on the map. He had gotten a letter the moment he opened his eyes. "Meet me at The Come And Go Room" it has said. And so, James Potter was sprinting faster than Merlin ever could down the hall towards The Come And Go Room as students who were already up before the sun watched with amusement. He had almost tripped thrice when he finally saw him. Regulus Black.

He was panted with exhaustion from all that running as he watched in awe, taking in the sight of the boy who could very well rival and surpass Adonis himself. They looked into each other's eyes for the first time after James had gotten together with Lily. "YOU ABSOLUTE IMBECILE! JAMES POTTER YOU ARSE!", Regulus screeched at him. James flinched as he dodged a flower vase that was thrown at him. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?", Regulus continued to yell as he threw another vase at him. To say James was confused was an understatement, he thought Regulus would be happy. He knew they both liked each other but why was Regulus acting this way? James crossed the space between them and cupped Regulus's face looking at him directly. "Reg, my love, what's wrong? Aren't you happy?" TO BE CONTINUED (hopefully)
