When I was in my primary school I didn’t like pets at all, especially dogs and cats. That’s because they were the only pets we had in our house. Everyone but my dad didn’t like them. They were messy, and an added responsibility to our already many house chores. For me, I think it’s because I was once bitten by a dog. Sometimes we’ll forget to feed them or give them water, and my dad will get angry for days, sometimes to the extent of not talking to us. One day my brothers and I returned from school, and saw three puppies in the house. Later that day my dad returned from work and shared the puppies to us. He said taking care of them was our responsibility and he was monitoring who amongst us will be able to take good care of his. It was literally a competition between me and my two brothers. We did well... 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️! One of my brothers lost his. And when we were moving from Sunyani to Accra, mine left home and so we came without him. The last one went missing in Tema, community 18. Now my friend @afrogallonism loves pets. He likes to have them around him and he be around them. Serge is actually good at taking care of animals. Something I think I’m learning, but it will take time.
