When I realized that I could probably not be straight.
I was in 4th grade, spending the night at my best friend’s house. We had a fun day of playing Kirby on N64 and sledding outside. After we settled down and was preparing for bed, I looked over to her as I cuddled in my sleeping bag. My heart fluttered when she smiled and said good night. I remember this so vividly. As she shut off the light, I distinctly remember the smell of the air. It smelled like her perfume, like that colgan body mist, Hawaiian ginger. I barely slept that night. All because I realized that I had a huge crush on my best friend and she was sleeping only 2 feet from me. After that night, her hugs became even more amazing. Her smiles made my knees give. And I always got so excited when I got to we her. Just thinking about her makes my heart quiver. She was my very first crush. I don’t think I’ll ever get over her. It took me 18 years to finally come out as bisexual after that experience. 18 YEARS! She was the second person I told, and she was so happy for me! ❤
