Here at everything-plural, our headspace is the number one hang out spot for syspets. [For us "syspet" means non-talking, non-fronting, just like your typical cat or dog but ✨ in headspace ✨] We love them as we do any pet!
What's a syspet? Sorry if wrong place to ask we've never seen the term before and you were the first person we saw say it. Sounds interesting tho
< Mod Chem> ok so! it's kinda based on the term "syskid" which means "a headmate who is a child". however, "syspet" means "a headmate who is a pet"!
this can look like a handful of things:
a headmate who can't front and can't talk but they're an animal that lives in the system (some ppl may call this an NPC too; we get these)
a headmate who can front but can't talk and behaves much more like an animal than a human (we don't get these but have known a system who did)
a talking animal headmate who can act like a human but also acts like an animal and might prefer to do so (this is more common for us and is what i was talking abt when i talked abt splitting a syspet recently)
(occasionally) a headmate who is an anthro animal or maybe otherkin but emotionally fills a pet-like role to the system like acting like an emotional support animal (probs the rarest use of the term but my system gets these; also the syspet i was talking abt also fits into this cause ey has an anthro form as eir basic form but prefers being four-legged)
when we include it as a role on our blog, it's usually for a talking animal or maybe the last definition i gave! however i think it can be used by any headmate who is a pet to some extent.
also u can always ask us system things! we may not always know everything, but we can tell u what we know at least!
hiiiii!
