I'd love to see an emo parasaurolophus! :3
IT'S NOT A PHASE, MOM!!!!
Oh you KNOW he's honkin' out some sad breakup songs thru his crest 😔
How could I not draw Uri for the second prompt 'latex love'? I may be 26 days behind but that won't stop me 💪 (I can still post for these prompts outside of October, right? ^^)
Side note - thank you @bigggsblog for the Uri love in my asks - I haven't not noticed them and I appreciate them 💙
Question for Surrender from the Future: What was the reaction of the rest of your family to Jack?
Prof. Steve:
Woo, mixed feelings I guess?
You already know how Trendy reacted, he was nervous but supportive while being the typical protective big brother.
Fender didn't really care? He's mostly surprised I even managed to pull off a long-term relationship. He honestly thought we'd break up after a year or so, given that was my record before I got with Jackie. He asked me quite often at the beginning if I truly am sure that I love him, which, while annoying, was justified because I do kind of have a history of dating people when I wasn't sure how I actually felt... Though I think he's happy for us, he and Jack actually got along pretty well during our wedding.
Splendor was very much excited, he was giggling and kicking his feet when I told him Jack and I first started dating. Both he and Trender reminded me to not hold back if Jack for some reason crossed me given his more snarky and violent nature isn't exactly unknown, but I promise he's a teddy bear. But uh yeah, definitely the happiest out of the bunch.
Slendy I think was conflicted, mostly? He didn't want me to pick up Jack's murderous tendencies that only got stronger after his zalgoid corruption, but if we look at our family history it- it's in the blood. I don't think there's any way around it, though I'd mostly only do it for the sake of protecting. We will not talk about the times I assisted Jack in getting food. He did say, and I quote, "I may not have been the kindest to you, but if Jack hurts you, you immediately come to me", which I found pretty nice of him. He isn't the first to say it but still.
Taavi I told over the phone, since we live kind of far apart from each other. Initially surprised because he didn't think Jack would be my type, in fact he's the type of guy I'd be terrified of, but happy nonetheless. They went out of their way to send me a cake, which I don't know HOW survived the trip but uh.. it did, so.. yeah. Not gonna take it for granted but that is mad impressive. And it tasted good too!
Should I talk about my parents too...?
I mean... I only actually told them when they summoned me to their palace and that was a few years after Jack and I got married, though I'm pretty sure they already knew? They're the same status as Zalgo, so somewhat omniscient beings.
To say they were not keen on our relationship is a bit of an understatement. They couldn't care less if he was human, although they prefer I married some other powerful being. No, the reason we got into a physical fight was because Jack had zalgoid blood because of his corruption, and if you know a little bit about our family history then uh... Yeah, Malachite and Blachlust don't like Zalgo or any of his kind. That's how I got my scars, by the way. We're not on talking terms anyways, so... My son really hates them, which I can't judge, I hate them too.
Actually, Jack and my closest brothers all hate them, what am I talking about? Lol
I never really talked to any of my other siblings, especially the elder ones, but I imagine they'd be pretty disapproving, they older ones have very similar views as our parents..
But uh yeah, that's about it I think. Geez, this was a long one, wasn't it?
★OOC: designs of Blachlust and Malachite are under the cut!
Hi bestie I am curious...
Did you ever get your pony beads? Or at least an update on them?
I have been worrying about you and those beads...!
Oh my goodness, I didn't mean to leave you hanging!!
The beads arrived safely yesterday (my 1-day shipping was more like 4, but that's ok!!) and I have already begun to use them!
Here's everything I made after work yesterday! The rat and lizard in the middle (with blue keychains) glow in the dark!!! I messed up the black rat so he has an amputated tail tho :\
owl man yells at owl. that's it that's the whole post
Theory time - Taavi is the one who cast the magic spell guarding the Antikythera from Kal
Ok, so how did we get here? Well, firstly, in The Ghosts of Antikythera. My first thought back than is that it was Sia. Sia makes some semblance of sense, in retrospect. She has massive beef with Kal (even more so than other people) and we know that her magic is powerful. HOWEVER we have not seen Sia using protection magic, meaning that we have no idea whether she even have the magic required to do such a thing.
Who does have protection magic definitely? Only Margaret and Dakkar. Dakkar is a possible candidate - seeing how he, much like most people, is not a fan of Kal and has powerful protection magic. But to me two things rule him out. Firstly, he doesn't have a connection to the Antikythera. It's possible that he just cast the spell and dipped out, but he references to the Antikythera as "the ship" in Arrival, part 2. Magic is a craft that requires a LOT out of you; if he put such effort into the Antikythera, he would care enough about her to at least say her name. Secondly, Kal says in episode 3 that "I haven’t encountered one of those since the war." Dakkar is present for those 45 between the war and the present. If this was really his spell, why won't he put it on more ships? Of course this one was special but enforcing protection against the evil fog is also pretty cool.
The second confirmed Protection user is Margaret. Margaret is POWERFUL. You don't call someone the "Great Enchantress" if her magic is not powerful. It's quite possible that she cast the spell that is guarding the Antikythera and than went off to New York. It makes sense because, unlike her brother, she was really missing for those 45 years. But, two things. A. We don't know what is Margaret's skill level in each of the Magic Ways. To me personally, the craft of spell casting is somewhat different than something like the Radiance. The raw magic is like energy you wield, much more instinctive and requires natural talent, but spells need someone to actually think and write and cast them while only using the Magic Way as a battery. That's why Itzal's spell was so powerful. You can't punch it. Anyway, back tracking to Margaret, we don't even know whether spells are something she did back than. B. It's less fun than my other thought. Margaret is by far the best options than Sia or Dakkar.
BUT HAVE YOU CONSIDERED TAAVI
My man spent a lot of time on the Antikythera, implied by what Kal, covered in illusion, says to Ahlaam. "We haven’t sailed the Antikythera together in many years." Yeah, it's possible Kal is bullshitting her to distract her, but Ahlaam agrees with him. Besides, it's likely that Kal knew these guys before it all and knows for a fact that Taavi and Ahlaam used to sail through Antikythera together.
We don't know anything about his Magic Ways, but guessing that Protection could be one of them is not that far fetched. We've seen weirder shit. AND we know that Taavi has been dead for at least 39 years, seeing as Sia says "Taavi’s been dead for years" so it's not news for Sia that Taavi is dead, meaning it happened before 1835.
So imagine this - Taavi sacrifices his life for Ahlaam. They're sailing the Antikythera, and the fog is rolling in. In a last ditch effort, he does the spell. He puts so much energy into it that it kills him. He's fueled by his rage and grief and love for his wife that he uses every bit of energy in his body to cast the spell and to fend Kal off. He dies on that ship in Ahlaam's arms. "I will never forgive you for this." She whispers furiously before he dies. He needs to know. He needs to know she loves him too much for him to die - and he dies anyway. He dies in 1829 and no one ever has been able to cast that much of a powerful spell ever since.
