Snippets - Talam and Beryon

So @darkshadeless and I were throwing around the idea of ‘what if Talam met Beryon?’ Talam is @darkshadeless‘ sass-master all round pretty spyboy, and Beryon is my angry disaster-Jedi with a terrible taste in men. ;)

In his defence, Beryon was distracted.

Stumbling into his tent after a long day of complete bullshit didn’t excuse him from almost missing the presence that most certainly wasn’t supposed to be in there.

Mud clung to his boots and his hair kept tickling his forehead in a way that made him irrationally angry every time he ran his fingers through it push it from his face. His blindfold was secure, thank the stars. 

This planet was a shithole, and he privately wondered why he’d been deployed there.

Some Republic nerds needed support so they sent their favourite battering ram to carve a bloody swath through the Imperial forces that also shouldn’t have been there.

He’d sensed the Sith who was leading them, a crazed sounding thing who shrieked at her troops when they followed her orders to the letter. Something about an artefact? Honestly, the pitch hurt his ears, and listening took a back seat to defending the Republic research team that felt as terrified of him as they were of the Sith.

If he was being honest, he felt a bit sorry for them.

Not sorry enough to spare them his ire, of course.

So, it had been an exceptionally long day.

Still, that didn’t mean he could overlook the fact that he’d actually stepped into the tent before he realised that it wasn’t as empty as it should have been.

In a moment, his blades were in his hands, and he felt the comforting hum travel up his arm.

“Who are you?” he snarled; one blade held out in the direction of the presence that was pressing against his senses with how much it didn’t belong there. “Answer fast, or I’ll have to get my answers from your corpse.”

Maren is the proud leader of Talam's first ever traveling guild! Issues have been arising, however, since no one qualified has been interested in joining. She needs to find two others blessed by Titans, those called Wielders, before the end of the month, or else her guild will be disbanded and her goal will die before it ever truly lives.

In her first grand adventure looking for would-be guildmembers, Maren finds herself attacked by grotesque monsters, contracted into a missing persons' case, and hunting down the dangerous truths that lurk in their nation's capital, Linick.

How would V’lante react if he found out his informant/boyfriend was a imperial spy?

I'm not entirely sure he would be surprised, if I'm honest.

He doesn't trust Talam as far as he can throw him, even if he does currently think that he's some kind of smuggler or other less than legally employed individual.

Finding out he's ImpInt wouldn't necessarily be a surprise, but it wouldn't be pleasant either.

He would be angry with himself and furious at Talam, to begin with. Later, he would think back on their moments and decide if Talam was using him for anything specific.

If they were mutually using each other as useful contacts who just happened to fuck? Well, that's not so bad.

If he thought Talam had been playing him for some kind of mission or scheme?

Then he'd be pissed.

If he was pissed enough, he might hunt him down.

He would be upset though, and a little hurt. After all, he enjoys Talam's company and likes to think that someone could enjoy his without it being for a mission.

So to summarise, it would depend on if he saw Talam as a threat.

If he does, bad news. (Talam, run)

If he doesn't... well, their liaisons might stop, depending on if Beryon understood the what Talam is. (They also might not stop, and have the added snark and spice of knowing you're fucking the enemy. No one has ever accused Beryon of making smart decisions.)

Still, there's one thing that any confrontation would be and that's awkward. ;)
