And We’re Back

Wow, okay, so that was a way worse delay than I’d intended. Sorry y’all, this semester gave me a fuckin’ beating.

However.

The summer interim is upon us, and as such Teratoscope will return, starting tomorrow. I’m doing a little extra on top of my usual stuff this time around, so updates may be a little slow and patchy as I find my rhythm again, but we are going to get all those leftover Request Week messages responded to before anything else. Freestar One is far from over; hopefully we’ll be about at a wrap for season 2 by the end of this summer.

The Unbounded Lands collected edition is pretty much finished. It’s illustrated, it’s formatted for the pdf release (with handy internal hyperlinks and everything!), and it’s gotten a final editing pass—all that’s left is for me to jump through some hoops on the business and distribution end.

REQUEST WEEK

Starting Monday, June 25!

Are you drawing a blank for something to populate your dungeon with that’s on-theme?

Have you got a rough idea for something to menace your players with, but you’re beating your head against the mechanics?

Is there a monster that you think has a kernel of something good and cool to it, but it’s buried under a mountain of horseshit?

Are you curious about the implicit world of TERATOSCOPE and want a closer look at an underrepresented facet of it through a monstrous lens?

Fear not! Send us your monster requests!

From the 25th to the 1st of July, TERATOSCOPE is taking all comers! We’ll be posting at our usual rate of one complete, system-neutral statted monster a day, but if we receive more than seven requests, overflow will be attended to! Every request (barring the outright boring, the morally objectionable, and most forms of trolling) will receive a complete post; at least once a week after the 1st, we’ll put up a requested monster, assuming there are any left! But your window is short—if you’ve got something, send it in now!

man I think the Living Juggernaut’s the first Teratoscope post that’s broken into two-digit notes within two days of posting it. Hecatoncheiropolis got more overall but it’s also been up longer.

Lesson: the flavor of the cultural moment is apparently “would not be out of place in a Kill Six Billion Demons splash page”

Not a bad lesson to learn.
