Pls more Enji ramblings I beg. I've heard so many people say he speaks very formally like a samurai or something. I've got no idea if its true or not, but I love it so much its real to me.
I have no idea if it's true or not either (I wish I knew Japanese to understand all this nuances ;m; ) but I believe it!
I'm of the opinion that, after his father died, Enji was lost without any form of parental figure so clung onto the sole thing he could believe in for sure, and that's his Japanese identity. Again, compared to All Might and his western/American influences, Enji is 100% JAPANESE in big bold fiery letters. His suits are all fire kanji, traditional home decor, the set up for Touya's memorial thing (I don't know all the technical terms I'm sorry), the prayer, everything about Enji is traditional Japanese man. And with no father figure left, who he clearly cared a lot about (Enji lost his way when his father died, Touya lost his way when his father distanced himself from him, Todoroki boys and their daddy issues is generational), I 100% believe that Enji would look at impressive masculine figures of his country's history, folklore and even old movies.
Also, Tetsu Inada, his VA, is also Captain Komamura's VA in Bleach, whose Bankai is A HUGE FREAKING SAMURAI GIANT
SO YEAH, I SURE HOPE ENJI SOUNDS LIKE A SAMURAI, HE GIVES OFF THAT VIBE. Honour, pride, fair fights and all that.
