I would be intrigued by a scenario where Chris acts out and Helena and Ramon have to deal with that.

I feel like so much of their relationship with Chris is founded on the fact Helena had a lot of input in raising him when he was small and still sees him as her sweet baby boy (attempt number 2), meanwhile their relationship with Eddie is one of they tried to raise him well but he screwed up by getting his hs gf pregnant then instead of at least staying in the army where he could provide and let them raise their grandson better in peace Eddie made things even worse by being injured out and coming back to drag Chris down and take him away from them. They have written Eddie off as a failure and repeatedly show no interest in supporting him to deal with his percieved problems, they just want Chris as a do over and to scrap Eddie from their lives.

But how would they handle it if Chris stops being their perfect golden baby and does teenage shit like drink and stay out late and use bad language. They have never shown any attempt to actually problem solve with Eddie, and Chris hasn't given them a great grandkid for do-over attempt 2, so are they suddenly going to have to figure out how to actually raise a child who is a person with their own thoughts and decisions making, or would they just give up on Chris as well?

My mom sent me this post made by @introvertdoodles-blog after I more explicitly shared my orientation with her (I’ve shared my feelings on me being aromantic asexual before, but never actually used explicit terms until recently). It felt kind of embarrassing but it was cute at the same time. I love my mom <3
