"We'll have to stand and fight... Or in your case, just stand."
Obi Wan Kenobi solidifying his place with Tech, Echo, and Crosshair as one of the most snarky characters in the prequel/early Imperial era 😂
Today marks 15 years since The Mandalore Plot debuted on Cartoon Network, which means happy birthday to:
Obitine! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
The darksaber
Jon Favreau’s first steps into Mandalorian lore
Obi-Wan and Satine sassing each other while she tries to save his life is one of the reasons I love them so much.
Obitine Chapters 🥰🥰🥰
While I’m working on fleshing out the outlines and sources for each chapter, I thought I’d share the rough outlines for my first two Obitine chapters (yes, there are multiple) since they don’t get enough love:
Chapter: Obi-Wan, The Lover - smattering of season 1&2 episodes, Mandalore arc
Discuss the archetype of chivalry/knights (Obi-Wan & Flawed Mentors article)
Archetype of the Lover (Lover, Warrior, King book)
Trespass as an example of what the role of Jedi ought to be, with Chuchi as an example of an anima archetype and damsel who becomes queen
Irony of Obi-Wan being a Jedi fighting a war while Satine is a Mandalorian objecting to war
Mandalore arc as showing Obi-WAN’s shadow (anima, missing feminine) and directly paralleling Attack of the Clones (with some dramatic irony from Anakin)
Feminine shadows of masc people are ANGRY just like Satine is with Obi-Wan when they meet again
Point out that Obi-Wan and Yoda (who will also face his shadow) are both Force ghosts, the transparent person who has no shadow (what Robert ably talked about a person without a shadow being insubstantial)
Symbolism of the assassin droids bursting out of the depths of the ships as a visual of what’s going on with Obi-Wan’a past; lots of yonic imagery in Voyage of Temptation
Chapter: Duchess Satine, the Mandalore arc (maybe put this directly after Obi-Wan’s chapter?)
Satine being inspired by Cate Blanchett’s performance as Queen Elizabeth I (who was rumored to have had an illicit affair similar to Satine’s past relationship with Obi-Wan)
Death Watch as Satine’s shadow (all the violence and rage pushed down and not integrated); also Mandalore and Death Watch as a parallel of the Jedi and the Sith (enemy emerging after it was supposedly defeated); visually symbolized by the mines/caves and darkness during the Concordia scenes
This is visually symbolized with the glass seen in Sundari (see-through; no awareness of shadow); symbolism of life (blue) in Satine’s clothing and the blueness of Sundari
The symbolism of cubism (how it shows things from multiple perspectives all at once, just like this arc shows different facets of the characters
Guernica painting of Jedi vs. Sith and history of Guernica
Satine’s quest for peace as parallel to Padme in Attack of the Clones
Historical parallels (war on Terror, invasion of Iraq based on false pretenses)
Bruh. That’s rude to steal lightsabers.
Happy 13th anniversary to Obi-Wan not being able to stop holding the Duchess of Mandalore’s hand.
The Clone Wars 2x12 ‘The Mandalore Plot’ Reaction
I love Satine. She is AMAZING. She is so fierce, takes absolutely no nonsense, stands up for what she believes in, is exceptionally competent and skilled in her areas of speciality (diplomacy etc), calls out Obi-Wan on his philosophical jedi bullshit and saves his life as well. And the sass. The Sass. It is off the charts. They spend the entire time flirting under the pretence of verbal jousting, sassing back and forth at each other. I love it. I love them. I spent so much of this episode just CACKLING.
Satine and Obi-Wan are perfect together. They compliment each other so well. They’re one of those couples that are just meant for each other. They’re soul mates (if this was a Soul Mates AU). Yes I know what happens shhh just let me enjoy this
I know I go on about Space Husband Cody all the time but Obi-Wan and Satine are just so good together. Obi-Wan can have a Space Royalty Wife and a Space Warrior Husband, as a treat. Or they could all just get together as a throuple. Actually, Satine, Cody and Obi-Wan as a throuple sounds most excellent. Ultimate power throuple right there.
Anyway, onwards to the live-blogging style portion of this reaction post.

Ahahahaha Obi-Wan is pure sass already
Oooh that’s a pretty building. Not particularly tactically secure though seeing as its walls and ceiling are made of glass. Though that makes sense as a pacifist statement I suppose.
Jango Fett was a common bounty hunter? Excuse?!
“Well, Master Kenobi, my shining jedi knight, to the rescue once again.” OMGILOVEHERALREADY
What were those strange shimmering noises?
“After all these years you’re even more beautiful than ever.” Obi-Wan you are NOT subtle
