The Superhero
El Hopper as The Mage
Ra One, 2011
Still thinking about that opening scene...😏
I thought this was a fun movie overall, though obviously made by people who don't actually play video games. You wouldn't sell many copies of a game that ends on Level 3.
But that airport scene 🤣 And SRK with those blue eyes...*swoon*
I don’t know why it’s so hard to get the idea that they lost even after Mike’s love confession, because it wasn’t TRUE LOVE.
They made a specific writing choice to put Mike’s monologue in the middle of the chaos and in the end they literally lost, and couldn’t break Vecna’s curse in time, so Max died and Hawkins went to hell.
my design for Michael,
I like the idea of him and ennard making peace or something and now they’ve got a venom symbiote scenario going on
hot take: baymax would have defeated thanos

Lore: Joshua Woodward was born in a small run-of-the-mill town in Long-meadow, USA. His life was boring. Everyday he would go to school than back to his home out of the many cookie-cutter houses in the neighborhood. The only relief he had from this insufferable boredom of his hum-drum life were his comic books. Ever since he was born he loved comic books and the tales of superhero. People who got to live exciting lives defending the innocent and stopping evil. Some said he was obsessed. Whenever there was some superhero memorabilia he had to have it. A new comic book released, he’s already in line. He bought everything he could and studied them, so he could learn from them. He always wanted to be a superhero, even when he was constantly laughed at and picked on by his classmates and neighbors he never gave up on his dream. Then one day he realized, what’s stopping me from being a superhero. Nothing. So he set to work. Creating a costume and gathering some supplies, working out at the Gym and studying harder at school. If he can’t become super through some miracle or chemical he’ll do it by bettering himself. When he was finished his costume and satisfied with his results he set out to work. He began patrolling everyday trying to find some crime to stop. Everyday he would go and everyday he would go home empty-handed and jeered at. Then one day his lucked turned. A woman getting mugged. It’s time to leap into action.
‘Fear not Madam. The Defender is here to protect the innocent.” A punch to the face and swing with his bat and the mugger is down. “Your safe now madam.” He said with one foot on top of the off the muggers head. She thanked him profusely. She was so sure she was going to die. She even hugged him. The feeling was great. The pride of taking down a villain and the satisfaction of being thanked for it, it's so good. It's addicting. He walked the woman back to her home as a precaution. When she left he realized he’s a super hero now. This is amazing. His dreams were coming true. He couldn’t stop now though. A superhero doesn’t stop one measly crime. He stops many. So he continued on for years honing his skills and serving justice.
As his skills grew so did his fame. People wanted to take pictures with him, they wanted his autographs, they made posters of him, clothing, action figures, he was a celebrity superhero, people were even beginning to trust and favor him over the police. it was amazing. They even gave him an old part of the city to use as his headquarters. it was amazing he finally reached the big leagues, but he can't let himself slow down now. The perks are nice but he’s a hero first and foremost not a glory hound so he kept doing his patrols and looking for crimes to stop. One night he came upon a drug dealer trying to sell to some kids. he shooed the kids away and attacked the drug dealers. A punch to the ribs and a swing to the head and the man was injured but not down. He fought back, he tried to stab him, Joshua delivered more punches, kicks and swings. he had to take thing guy down, he was trying to kill him. He couldn't die. He’s the hero. Then he swung into his legs, then his arms, then his ribs, and then his head. And then again. And again. And Again. He eventually stopped to catch his breath and saw that he killed the man. He was so scared. He killed a man in cold blood. They were a villain but still. ‘It’s okay he told himself. He was evil and he was essentially a goon. Goons can be killed by heroes because their evil and replaceable. Your fine. Besides doesn’t it feel good knowing that the evil-doer can’t do evil ever again. Yeah. HIs death means their less evil in the world. Maybe I should start taking a more permanent approach to evil.’
The bodies one evil began to pile up. People were getting scared. Is there a serial killer on the loose. Joshua reassured them there is no serial killer but instead those people have died trying to create a villain. Every hero needs a villain after all as a villain is the only one who stands a chance against them. Those people who died were all evil-doers I have defeated and now want a leader to organize them to take revenge on me and harm all of you. But worry not I shall do all I can to prevent his atrocity from happening to our beloved town. The foolish civilians bought the lie. Now they will be less suspicious regarding the dead bodies. After all a “villain” killed them not the paragon of justice that is myself. But I do need a villain someone to throw of suspicions “Murder” of me and to fight and defeat. The lead villain is the paragon of evil after all and if.... no when I kill them I would have eradicated all evil in this town and then I can spread good and justice unhindered.
When Joshua went out on patrol to extinguish evil he found shattered glass, missing items and calling card. “The Devilish Duke”. Finally a villain to kill. He has to track him down and any other evil who stands in his way. This is his grand act. Now to track him down. There’s a small trail of shards leading to the right into a back alley. No villain but another drug dealer. Why do they keep coming to HIS TOWN. Don’t they know what will happen to them, oh and they have a customer great. He tried to get the customer, a teenage girl to leave but she refused to go. She wanted to see her favorite superhero in action. This could work in his favor, every hero needs a sidekick after all. So he decided to show the girl how exactly to take care of evil. Break their limbs so they can’t escape, break the ribs so their to injured to even try, then bash the skull in to get rid of their evil. The girl stood their hands over her mouth, eyes wide open, laughing. She enjoyed this? Was she evil as well? Did she need to be taken care, off for the greater good of course. She ran up and hugged them. She was ecstatic at seeing a hero’s work firsthand and wanted to be his sidekick. He agreed and the Defender was soon joined by the Guardian.
Joshua and the Guardian who he later found out was name Leila worked to carry out his crusade of justice. He publicly announced her as his sidekick and the murderous rampage of the Devilish Duke and assured the public that they wouldn’t stop until he faces justice. After the announcement crime went up instead of down. So did the body count of villains. Joshua and Leila went out to kill villains, find the duke, and pacify the public. Then they encountered a witness. A little boy saw the super-duo kill a villain and threatened to tell on them. Leila tried to reassure the boy that he was evil and would have killed people if he didn't already. The boy refused to budge. Joshua was angry. How dare this child question his work. He killed a villain, he is a hero. This little boy must be working with the villains. It's the only thing that makes sense he would have to go. It’s said to see a child die but he is evil and it’s for the greater good. So he raised his bat and swung. And Swung and Swung until i was nothing but quiet and red streaks. He made pose. He couldn’t help it he just felt so heroic and good. He got rid of a burgeoning hero. The Guardian looks but sick but she’ll keep going or else.
The death of the boy has reached the news after some old bat found the body. I Simply told the people that the duke did it and that was that. Some rumors started to emerge that I was the one who killed the brat. They are beginning to talk behind my back and destroy the merchandise they have of me. How dare they accuse me. How dare they doubt me. I’m The HERO! Everything i say or do is righteous and unqestionalbe. I’ll have to silence that pathetic leak. But first the duke. Dead man can’t speak after all.
Things were going pretty well for Joshua. He killed more villains, get more acknowledgement for his heroics and finally got a lead of the Devilish Duke. Leila was a bit quiet and skittish but he would make her get over it. Then one day the duke approached him, lambasting him for blaming him for the murders, especially of civilians when all he’s done is steal some jewels. How dare this villain lambast him. He’s a villain going against the forces of good and justice and who cares about the people who died they were evil anyway. He should be praising me for removing his competition. He tried to attack me I attacked back. This is finally my chance. He lifted up his bat and Swung.
The Devilish duke lived up to his name. He almost died if not for the Guardians intervention, fortunately he gave as good as he got and severely injured the duke. Unfortunately the Duke managed to get away into the woods leaving a trail of blood being him. He told the guardian to report to the press that he was going after the duke and then onto the next town to stop the spread of evil. The town is hers nows.
He went into the woods intent of killing the villain. With the villains demise all doubt will be gone and he will always be remembered as the superhero he is. Just when he entered the forest the world grew blackened and dark and eerie spider-like tendrils emerged from the ground and began to surround him. They offered him a chance to hunt and kill evil for eternity starting with the duke. He agreed and was taken to a new world.
Back in town his headquarters lay abandoned as rumors about the heroes murders were growing stronger and stronger and Leila wasn’t sure how much longer it could keep quiet.
The Superhero is a tall lanky man that is far stronger than he looks. He has blond hair and dark blue eyes that seemingly pierce into your soul. He wears a a dirty bloodstained white windbreaker jacket and pants combo with a red shirt and yellow handkerchief wrapped around his neck and tall black boots with the bottoms coated in blood. He wields a steel bat with which to beat evil. He will raise the bat above his head when attacking and then swing it down on the legs, arms, chest/ribs, and head. On a successful attack he will strike a heroic pose and laugh.
The Superhero’s Power: Greater Good
Evil can’t be allowed to flourish!
Using the alternate action key will cause the Superhero to attempt to grab the nearest survivor in front of him within melee distance and reduce an ability.
A skill check zone will appear once you grab a survivor.
Great skill checks prevent the survivor from using one skill of the killer’s choice for 25/35/45 seconds.
Good skill checks allow the survivor a small skill check in an attempt to escape your grasp, if the survivor fails a random ability is reduced for 10 seconds.
Failed skill checks from you give the survivor a large skill check in an attempt to escape from your grasp unharmed.
You cannot attack when you have grabbed a survivor.
The area of effect is 5 meters with a 30 degree cone in front of him. The Superhero will have a .75 seconds windup animation then dash forward at 135% speed for 1 second with low movement control in a straight line. Missing a survivor causes a backlash animation for 1.5 seconds, during which you have free camera control, but move at 15% speed. 20% of the skill check for you is a great skill check zone. Survivor skill check is 10% bigger than the overcharge 3 skill check. Failed skill check is 10% smaller than a standard skill check. While The Superhero has a survivor in his grasp, he will grab the survivors wrists with one hand and knock them onto the ground holding their head down with the other while the survivor squirms around trying to break free. During this time, The Superhero can be interrupted by pallets, but not blinds. Successful capture against the survivor will cause him to hoist the survivor on his shoulder (takes 1.5 seconds). The Superhero will drop the survivor and hit them with his bat if they escape from his good skill check, you will do your weapon hit animation. If the survivor escapes during your power you will be stunned for 3 seconds out of rage and disbelief.
Mori (Killer PoV) - (First person camera) You stand above the dying survivor, looking down on them as you raise your bat above your head and swiftly brining it down. You aim for the legs, then the arms, the chest, and finally the head repeating until the survivor has stopped moving. When the survivor is dead the Superhero strikes a pose and gives himself a congratulatory laugh while flicking the blood off his bat for once again vanquishing an evildoer.
Mori (Survivor PoV) - (Worms Eye View) The Superhero will stand above the dying survivor, looking down of them as he raised his bat then brings it down on your legs shattering them. Then the arms to shatter them as well and prevent your escape. The chest to damage your ribs and lungs, Finally the head. He does this a couple of times. Before you die you see him strike a pose and laugh.
His personal perks, Justice Seeker, Crime Doesn’t Pay and Hex: Super allow him to gain special bonuses to hunt down the evil doing survivors in the name of good.

Introducing: Nathan Reed “The Devilish Duke”
DLC: With Great Power
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Role: Gentleman Vilain
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Difficulty: Intermediate
Nathan Reed was a normal man living in Long-meadow, if being a secret jewel thief counts as normal. Nathan was a kleptomaniac with a love of shiny things and theater. But he kept his urges in check, people would notice if the lovely shiny things went missing so he kept to the small stuff, coins and pocket-watches. Then one day news of a hero comes around and he has an idea.
At night he dons his disguise and becomes the Devilish Duke a jewel thief and possible villain to this “The Defender.” While he plays the big bad no one will notice all the jewels going missing its perfect, or so he thought. On his first heist he’s clumsy, he forgot to find a back-up way out and had to go through the window. Never again will he make that mistake. That little slip-up almost got him caught. He can’t stop when he just getting started so he runs and drops his calling card. He hears the hero coming and jumps to the roof and watch him. He’s surprisingly young, he looks like he just got out of school. The hero should cry or scream vengeance or look for clues but he doesn’t. He kills. And some poor girl is enamored with him. Likely and act out of fear or denial. It's best to keep watch. The hero isn't nearly as squeaky clean as he though he would be. Maybe it’s just a one time thing.
It’s not. This time after another successful heist he kills two people. A drug dealer who owes me money and a kids. What the fuck hero!?. And then he has the nerve to blame it on me. No. I steal jewels not lives. I have to be careful. He’s crazy but influential.
I started some rumors about the murder I saw and sent an anonymous tip to the police. He’s getting under scrutiny now. but the town i still crazy about him. he’s even gotten his own headquarters now and some merchandise. I want merchandise, but I also want to live and not deal with a super serial killer so I’m putting up some wanted posters. His. This is his warning. I already have wanted posters I defaced but at least i’m not a serial killer like this nutcase. Let’s play a game of cat and mouse. I’ll be sure to be the victor and add to my ever-growing collection. There’s no such thing as too much.... jewels that is. I’ll take care of the hero after I get some more jewels and ruin his reputation some more. And look after the girl. She seems way to innocent for this.
I met up with the girl after a heist. Turns out she’s having doubts after the murders. Using my god-given talents and looks i convict her to be a double agent. She spies on psycho for me and I keep her safe and give her some jewels. It’s all gonna work out. The only thing that would make this nigh better is a heist on every house in the town. Let’s see if I can do it before sun-up. I managed to do it barely and decided to check out these headquarters he’s so proud of. Its an old warehouse refurbished into a high-tech joint, filled with superhero junk and comic books and a bunch of weapons and journals. Keeping track of kills I see. Theres a gym where he obviously works out on and some rooms locked with a keypad. I’ll have to ask the girl for the code. It’s time to leave, i’ve been here long enough. Just out the door and drop my card.
It’s been a couple of months now. The heists are getting stale and repetitive and dragging the little bastard’s reputation through the mud is doing jack-shit. The little spy tells me that the hero is getting ready to hunt me down like a dog and kill me “in the name of justice”. I decide to take one last look around his little headquarters, it’s expanded. The looked doors lead to two other buildings one full of weaponry and data and the other looks like a slaughter house coated with blood. Probably where they keep the bodies. And the piece de resistance is a giant version of my wanted poster on the wall with daggers sticking out of it. He’s even worse than what i though. It’s time for the Devilish Duke and the Devil to finally meet face to face. We met up and i immediately start yelling at the little bastard. If he’s truly a hero then he should take responsibility or his actions and not try to murder people. i go in to cripple, not kill. he can’t confess if he’s dead. He lift’s his dammed bat above his head and swings, aiming for my legs.
The little bastard tried to break my arms and legs. He defiantly broke my ribs. it hurts. I have to leave or else he’ll kill me. I don’t wanna die, not like this. I crawl into the forest. Not the best idea I know but the forest is big and dark and the filthy mud can help hide my blood trail. Hopefully I can take the time and patch myself up before he comes for me, or at least take the bastard down with me. Something is wrong, the world suddenly blackened and grew dark, eerie spider-like tendrils emerged from the ground, and surround me, I pass out. When i wake i’m lying next to a campfire while my wounds are being tended to. Where am I?
