mini prompt a hansry moment after the hanging but before they’re presented to von Bergow?
"Everything's alright, my lord. I've got you."
Hans is trembling so hard he can hardly walk, practically half his body flung around Henry's shoulders. Henry bears the weight gladly, slowly but surely guiding Hans up the hill toward the main castle buildings where he knows the bathhouse to be. The most important thing to him in this moment is to get Hans away from the crowd, out of the filthy rags he's wearing, and into a nice hot bath.
Hans' unsteady foot catches on a particularly large stone in the muddy path and he stumbles, nearly goes down were it not for Henry's steady arm around him. Henry hoists him up, opting to carry him as much of the way as he can, sliding his other arm under Hans' legs and holding him close to his chest.
"Almost there. We're almost there. You'll feel better soon, Hans, I promise," he mumbles into Hans' hair, golden strands tickling his nose. Up close, he notices the bits of dried blood still clinging to him from the brawl at the wedding.
