i've been playing sky cotl a lot recently because it's such a chill low energy game. my favorite part is figuring out songs to play on the instruments. i grinded for a week to get the 200 candles needed for the cello and i love it, so here's me playing This is Berk on it! i have other songs i've learned that i'd like to record and share eventually
also yes i colour coordinated the outfit to match my cello
If that’s really Berk into live action then it’s laughable how tiny it is.
I wouldn’t have classism problems on this tiny rocky island which got even tinier in the live action, at least from this shot, I would have space problems. And if I was a dragon I wouldn’t even bother visiting it to steal something because it’s that tiny and it would just be a waste of energy. OG Berk was bombastic and worth the energy.
I was at the HTTYD concert 2 weeks ago where there was a live orchestra while the movie was playing and I- chills.
I NEED MORE
Test drive and forbidden friendship live? Literally chills. Just take my money now. I'm sad that I went for the last showing in my country cus if I had went for the first show, I probably would have gone to all the shows tbh.
When they did all the test drive reprises? chef's kiss.
Can we please have a HTTYD marathon concert? Where they play all 3 movies and the live orchestra plays?
Also, the dancing and the dreaming sung live? Just take my soul right now.
This is my official request to John Powell or DreamWorks or whoever to please just give me a HTTYD orchestra marathon concert.
I know that a lot of people are skeptical about the How To Train Your Dragon - Live action film, but I watched it and it is really cool.
The original is better, of course. But I have to say that you can see how much thought they put behind the remake. Even if some of the characters look different, it was very interesting.
WARNING: SPOILER ALERT:
I really like that they gave Hiccup's friends more backstory. Like Snotlout and his father or Fishlegs the dragon nerd. They seemed more like actual friends and I like that. But I understand that the original focuses more on Hiccup's story, given that the makers of the film could not know how famous it will become.
The dragons?! They are so beautiful and there even were some that originally don't appear in the first movie, for example the Skrill (that looks honestly better than in the show).
The fact that there are vikings from other islands there is so cool, because this not only explains why some look different, it also shows how much they depend on eachother. And I was so happy to see Phlegma, because I only knew her from School of Dragons (the video game) and not from the show or the films and I was happy to see her as a character and well-known woman on Berk.
The foreshadowing! Talking about Hiccup's mother, Snotlout and his father and Gothi and her Terrible Terrors. Honestly, I felt like these little things should show how connected the film is to the storyline. I like it, but I think the film is best for people who already know the plot from the other films and shows.
The landscape, how wonderful. It reminded me so much of Berk but still has its own touch to the story. The village has a pretty design and I loved the houses. Even the dragons made sure to remind me of the geographical location of Berk, because in one scene a dragon carried a dead polar bear.
To summarise, I can say that I loved that film. It was nostalgic but still had something new to it. The original is definetly better but I am so glad I gave the remake a chance. I read that they also want to make the second film and I am looking forward to it.
