A lot of us could benefit from reviewing the difference between general and specific, in this internet age of people speaking generally and other people responding specifically, usually to the effect of, "I am not specifically included/represented in this general statement, therefore the statement is wrong." And yes, generalizations can be wrong. But perhaps we ought to review the difference between general and universal, as well.

I have a question about politics and this is probably gonna annoy people, but anyway, y'all follow me for raw unfiltered thoughts so I guess read at your own risk. All that being said....

I don't know what my political identity is, which annoys me because I know I'm leftist, but that's like saying "yeah I like music". I think I'm somewhere communist but every time I try talking about where my values lie, I'm always told that my "conception of (xyz political identity) is really uninformed". So often it feels like a lot of people assume that because I'm from the country, I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to politics.

Like I have issues with communism, anarchism, most of them to be honest, which mostly boils down to how there are often shortcomings with how they deal with greed. Because greed kept us alive as a fledgling species, yet so did compassion. But neither of this are in isolation and to me it seems that most people from various political backgrounds seem to think that their ideology will just take root and that people will live like it's always been.

To be clear, I don't like how most of the world we live in is governed, but it won't go away if your particular brand of revolution is successful. Those currently holding the power will just feel cheated. The world won't change overnight and I'm tired of so many people pretending it will.

I'm also tired of being so routinely dismissed as an unintelligent, ignorant country hick. I have good ideas, I have complex thoughts I want to share without people constantly responding with an air of patronisation. I don't know how to fix things, because realistically, I'm a working class 24 year old woman living pay cheque to pay cheque. I'm sick of the arrogance I am faced with whenever I try to engage with politics.

Anyway, have fun with this and weigh in with opinions if you like. At my core, I believe it's reductive to say that humanity is either inherently bad or inherently good. Yet I also believe that we should always be working towards helping out in all the small ways. I think everybody should be looked after and that we shouldn't be arcahically struggling to eat in the year of our lord 2025. I believe in freedom and equity, I believe in tolerance but I also believe that we can't just let harm slide. Idk, speculate about me if you like, I'm just frustrated and exasperated.

I'm very sorry for the long winded ramble.

Ough i felt that morale pain too 

God i love how the princess is always such a good parallel to harry its so poetic. She is trying to self destruct she doesnt know anything else

Side note but im listening to the disco elysium soundtrack while reading and I got to precinct 41 major crimes unit as soon as he found his gun loaded and the timing of the music is so perfect for the mood

whether dandelion was originally intentionally queer coded or not could be debated, but i honestly can with confidence say that he definitely is regardless of intention ESPECIALLY when you look at how he’s written through a modern lense, and i feel like it is really weird how in twn they’re “trying” to not lean into the queer coding and denying it despite adding things not in the books to make it even easier to interpret jaskier as queer……

maybe it’s because they don’t want to make geraskier canon but like….. you can still make jaskier canonically queer without a gay ship being canon there’s more to being queer than romance

i have mixed feelings about geralt and dandelion/jaskiers relationship and dynamic as a whole in twn especially the contrast between the book version and the netflix version. i dont have a strong opinion on the changes in geralts character, but it feels a bit lazy when there is obvious room for character development especially in his opinion about destiny and his relationship with jaskier. also the “apology” jaskier got from geralt was really half-assed and jaskier deserves better i do hope things are made better in season 3

i’m willing to give the writers the benefit of the doubt for now, considering we have two more seasons confirmed, but the way it’s gone so far is really questionable and i want better

i don’t like People what i mean is i don’t like what society has done to People i don’t like the fake smiles, the fake friends, the People with Their lives figured out so well that They have no time for you anymore because you’re bad for Their image the Ones that cut you out when you can’t keep it together and talk about you behind your back the Ones who know you as the ‘weird’ friend, the ‘always sad’ friend, the friend ‘who’s not going anywhere’ i like the trash fire people the broken ones who hold themselves together with scotch tape and glue the ones who have their shit together one day, and are a mess the next the ones that wouldn’t trade you out for the world the ones who would die for you the ones who would live for you the people who help because they’ve been through it before the people who you’d never guess have been through it before the delinquents, the punks, the ones with more loyalty than you’ve ever seen, the ones who strive to do good, to fix the world the ones who want to burn the patriarchy and society to the ground the ones who make family out of friends the ones who don’t speak to their families the people with no problems that nonetheless try to help you with your problems the people who try to do at least a little better each day even when life is telling them to give up because it won’t make a difference the ones that the world won’t miss the ones that the world will miss the most human beings trying their best to help themselves and to help others i don’t like People i like people.

one of those days, the world is fuzzy. it’s almost nice, this soft sort of sad, almost. when you say you have a mental illness, people without one always assume, assume every sadness is all encompassing, assume you may break down at any moment, assume your coping is you screaming for help. but that isn’t always the case is it? sadness is fluid, it can be all encompassing, or it can be soft. it can swallow you whole, or it can almost blanket you away from the world. not every sadness leads to a breakdown. not every breakdown stems from a sadness. the world is fuzzy, things seem muted and pastel, almost as if nothing is real or matters all that much, in this fake sort of calm sometimes i have to wonder if this is the closest i’ll get to the real thing. this false, pillowy blur on the world, always always tinted with sadness. but it’s a soft sort of sad.
