Good times in Morrowind, bad times in Morrowind

No one doing this should be allowed to call themselves a feminist.
The wealthy author escalated a social media spat that resulted in posting a photo from a 2023 event at the Institute of Economic Affairs in
Let's not beat around the bush: Children's author JK Rowling sexually harassed someone. In some jurisdictions, this would count as sexual abuse. JK Rowling has committed a sex crime against a woman and fell back on the old rape apologist standby of "she was asking for it".
I hope your nostalgia is worth it
i’m going to be really honest with you guys i think the tendency to read the absolute worst possible intentions into every action you don’t agree with is getting too automatic and it’s eating you from the inside out
Oi dont even joke lad
I've never met anyone who's issues with transgender people couldn't be solved by minding their own business.
oh you’re yanking my chain? yank harder
I wonder if I can approximate some of ESO's Khajiit hairs. They're a lot more interesting than Skyrim's hairstyles
Khajiit mullet updo.
people tend to assume medical transition is about the visuals (eg “how is this different from [beauty trend primarily engaged with by people whose income relates to appearance on visual media]”)
& it’s hard to explain that like, of my surgeries the only one so far that is externally visible is top surgery, and for me personally I went from having my chest be my most hegemonically “beautiful” trait (big round breasts) to my most hegemonically “ugly” trait (uneven keloid scarring) so that was not really for like aesthetics either.
the primary reason I get medical care is for my body to function comfortably. for it to feel comfortable.
like I remember reading this article by a trans woman discussing her decision to get very large breasts even though she anticipated it would draw her negative attention, and she talked about a lifetime of feeling off balance, and after surgery feeling the weight on her chest that she had been accounting for to be balanced correctly in the way she held herself and moved.
I know cis people see transition through photographs and assume it is a primarily visual thing, but in my experience it is much more experiential. it is about how we exist physically and sense the world around us. it is our bodies not just how our bodies look & are perceived
like why do people act like the south is a lawless christian wasteland where anyone who isn’t cishet and white gets beat to death for existing. yes bigotry is worse in the bible belt but for the love of god you know people exist there just fine being lgbt and gnc. southerners aren’t all mindless conservative apes, most of them are just normal ass people. you ever seen the average woman walking around a walmart in georgia? braless makeupless and not conventionally attractive but existing just fine and peacefully. like cmon humans are more complex than that. you’ll be fine
people just hate children. it's a sorry state of affairs. they hate children being starved and bombed overseas. they hate children laughing and playing in the park. they hate their own kids, whom they popped out because social norms told them it was an obligate milestone for their own enrichment and not the creation of another human being whose life then takes priority over theirs. they don't want to be around children, they don't want to raise them, they are always foisting them onto someone else and no one wants to take them. they hate children even though we were all children once and most of us probably know, in some way or another, how withering it felt to be a hated child, whether it was some stranger on a bus telling us to shut up in an isolated incident or our parents resenting the fact that we existed. nothing will get better if we don't stop hating children and start seeing every child anywhere as a vulnerable citizen we ought to look out for. our society is only as healthy as the poorest, loneliest child in it.
Alien communicating with world leaders from high orbit: Hiii yeah so this is awkward, we did scans to see about Federation membership but here's the thing... You guys mix artificial polymers in your waste products, and that's a ticking time bomb for evolving polymer rot.
We're quarantining you.
Look, no hard feelings but we will shoot down every vessel you launch until we can be sure they're not carrying plastic-eating bacteria.
Last time we had a breakout of those it took CENTURIES to eradicate them, so like, no thanks
Ok hi thanks for your cooperation on the polymer rot issue. So we've been reviewing your food chains for possible cultural issues and, like, um, well, you see...
I'll cut right to it. If the whole "milk" thing comes out? It'll be a federal scandal. Really, really freaky, you guys.
Like at first we were pretty impressed, a whole anatomical feature that processes excess nutrients you've acquired into a bioavailable form for other members of your species? Incredible pro-social adaptation.
But only half of you?
And only for nourishing progeny?
What the fuck??
Right. We've consulted with representatives from several nutrient-sharing cultures and have an envoy in mind for ideal diplomacy.
You'll be pleased to know that the envoy is renowned for their skill at growing extremely palatable nodules, and has been cultivating a fine selection on their krannok, ripe for the picking when they land.
Oh, right, we should clarify. The krannok is a structure located between the third and fifth limb where they can store excess nutrients in detachable nodules. I'm sure you know where we're going with this? The flavor might be unusual for your species but you know the basic etiquette here, obviously.
Right, our analysis of what those muscular movements communicate is indicating that the visual data we provided is activating a response usually reserved for hazardous objects, which you are incapable of metabolizing? For clarity, we have made every effort to ensure metabolic compatibility, and-
Ah. Okay. Right. So what you are expressing here, questioning the suitability of the nodules for consumption, it's very good that this happened here and not during first contact. It's a HUGE faux pas to dispute the quality of someone's nodules. Wooh. Okay, interstellar war averted. This is why we have these talks. I take it you are not preparing to send an envoy famed for milk-production ability, then?
No?
The mere suggestion is a faux pas in your culture?
"Bizarre 'kink' premise?" Huh. Okay.
Wow, we are learning so much here.
Speaking of which, and I know it might seem like we’re fixated on the milk thing, but we had some new data come to light.
Can you explain this “cow” bioform to us, and how long has it consented to the milk arrangement?
it does always piss me off when a historical drama only costumes the characters meant to be unattractive or unsympathetic in historically accurate clothing, while the attractive/sympathetic ones are given essentially contemporary costumes with a slight historical flavor. the past is a foreign country and mainstream film treats it just like one
one thing i wanna say though is data centers being built in rural areas is environmental racism + classism so when i see ppl bitching about locals bitching about data centers im like oh it’s literally because it’s not your backyard being demolished and your air not being polluted and your waterways not being ran dry and your soundscapes not being raised to unhealthy decibels ….
I think at bare minimum all medical professionals need to make sure they are treating patients with more kindness and respect than grifters. if you go to a doctor and they treat you like shit, humiliate you, and send you home without any information on your body or access to treatment, then health-grifters' offers will start to feel more tempting by simply giving the most basic performance of taking you seriously and caring about your well-being. grifters should be condemned for manipulating and exploiting sick people, and doctors also play a role in whether grifts thrive or are successfully identified and rejected. genuine baseline human respect, and beginning a relationship with a patient by earning (rather than demanding) trust, goes a long way.
