Part of being an adult is begrudgingly letting a child take the blocks/legos/building materials you were fiddling with even though you were also in the middle of building something really cool.
My niece after telling me to "watch this":
Mistborn Monday: Kell adn Marsh
Baby!Kell does not spell very well, though he’s rather good for a three year old. This is the cover page for a planned children’s book I’m creating for my kids.
The picture is inked, but the shading is pencil. I’m planning to use the pencil as a guide for when I color.

My three-year old is so dramatic.
Someone in the family got my tiny ass three year old a King sized fluffy/fuzzy blanket. She loves this blanket more than she loves me and she drags it everywhere. Monday is laundry day. She stands at the washer screaming and crying, “MY BIG FUZZY IS DROWNING!”
Why???? Small children are so funny and also the most dramatic creatures on the planet.
My three-year old’s life is a Dramedy
Things my child says...
My son attends a small, in-home daycare where the meals are all homemade by a man with some serious cooking skills. I picked up my son from daycare one day, and the lady who watches him says that they had meatballs for lunch, but he wouldn’t eat them until she cut them up very small. “Did he tell you giant meatballs are dangerous?” I ask. “He did! I’m guessing you know why?” she says. I did know why. I had read to him the book Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, and there were illustrations of large food crashing through roofs -- earlier that week, we watched an episode of Muppet Babies where the little muppets had to fly a space-ship through a meatballeroid field and a giant meatball hit the ship and sent it spinning through space. Edward concluded that meatballs are dangerous. I convinced him that they were only dangerous if they got too big, if they were small, they were delicious. After hearing the story, the daycare lady nodded and simply said, “That makes sense.”
Working from home today and what’s the first thing that happens this morning? After having my coffee, my 3 year old comes downstairs in a bad mood. *cue temper tantrum* He sat on the couch with me for a couple minutes before deciding he was going to demand things, and then when I gave them to him, demand that I fix the things, even though it’s what he asked me for. Asked for food, then milk, didn’t have milk so I gave him some juice, but that’s not right. Obviously. He continues to start whining and crying. He does this thing where he just says “mommy” over and over and over again even if I ask him “what do you need?” he’ll just keep repeating himself. *eyeroll* I needed to get on the computer and start working but he had different plans. So, he decided to meltdown for 45 minutes. Then he hits his brother for no reason, so I had to put him in time out. Cue pissing himself on the stairs out of spite. LOL it was fantastic. It took him a good hour and 15 minutes to calm down.
This stage, this part of it all, is why I love to laugh at people who have their first and only child and are still in the baby stage who think it’ll never happen to them. No, nope. You don’t know kids, then. This is exactly the shit they do. Cry because. Cry because the juice cup isn’t the right one. They’re like power hungry little dictators. I love my kids to death but it’s totally nonsensical and out of your control what they flip out about. No amount of trying to be reasonable helps you.
But you know, all jokes aside, I really would rather spend my time with a three year old who can’t control himself than have to suffer through any more adult relationships with grown ass people who can’t control themselves. The three year old’s temper tantrums are age-appropriate at least.
