ABB Azipod D series of gearless thruster
I was at the Udvar-Hazy Center with @ms-dos5 and spotted a Lucite-encased thruster from Gemini VIII (Neil Armstrong's first space flight), and thought "wait, haven't I seen that somewhere before?
Sure enough, I have, but I also haven't. The Armstrong Air & Space Museum also has a Gemini VIII thruster encased in Lucite. Except it's a mirror image. Is this the same thruster, but from the other side? It would make sense for them to have removed more than one for study after one of them failed open and caused the Gemini craft to spin out of control.
I made a short video about my research into spacecraft thrusters using Blender! Hall thrusters are a widely-used type of electric rocket, but we still don’t understand vital physics relating to their operation. My research hopes to discover new models for this unknown physics to improve our ability to predict their performance.

Bio Electric Ion thrusters
A biopunk spaceship could plausibly use an ion engine to propel itself. I imagine such a system would be made up of: a gas bladder (or series of gas bladders) to store the propulsion gas, a large organ of electrolytes (like those found on strongly electric fish), and the thruster itself: the positively charged walls of the thruster will likely be a variant of the electrolyte not designed to have the ability to release such a charge and to gather a far more intense positive charge, and two grids of conductive material to propel the now ionized gas, thus creating thrust.
Unfortunately such a thruster would likely have to be pulsed (unless a set of electrocyte organs were set up in such a manner that one was dischargeing while the others where recharging).
Anyways what do you all think? I would love to hear your thoughts.
