Backpackers Tip| 5
Buy A Flightbag!
If your trip is going to involve a lot of airtravel, I’d suggest investing in a flightbag. This is a bag you put your backpack in before checking it in.
Backpacks have a lot of straps and zips and other things attached to them. When your backpack is transported to and from the plane, all of these straps WILL get caught on the baggage carousel, baggage cart and anything else it can possibly get caught on.
By investing a little money in a flightbag, you can protect not only your backpack from damage, you can also protect your belongings from getting stolen.
~Doodles and doodles, but the lips are pretty nice
A lot of times when a really strong idea hits me that I just can’t forget or else, I immediately start something new or feel the need to do so. I like to take breaks from the different pieces I work on because, like my high school art teacher once said, your brain will start to get tired and/or anxious from what you’re looking at. And from there you’ll start to overthink the decision you make in your piece. So its good to look at things from a different perspective - to stop and take a step back to really see the decisions you’re making. So, I take a break when I can. Or I play video games when I have the time, so I can come back to a project with a fresh mind.
Love Tip #5
Ignore your significant other for an unspecified amount of time. Letting them wonder about what happened to you for weeks at a time will strengthen your bond.
Tip #5: PMD
This tool is one of the most HELPFUL tools for any event or project, I promise!
P = Plus List all of the positive things that happened. Did you do a great job planning? List it! Was attendance at the event high? List it! List absolutely everything that you (or your team) did well. Focusing on positive things helps keep everyone motivated and feeling accomplished.
M = Minus List the top things that perhaps could have gone better. Did you forget an important supply or presentation tool? Did the weather compromise your event? Get it all out in the open, and be perfectly honest. Looking at what went wrong is the only way to make improvements.
D = Delta To me, this is the most important concept. These are the things that you would change if you were to do the event again. Perhaps you should have made a backup weather plan? Maybe next time you'll have a live DJ instead of the speaker system? Get all of your ideas out there! What could make the event/project better next time? How can we avoid the mistakes that happened this time? How can we enhance the things that went well this time?
Put all of these lists into a 3-column worksheet. I like to write them on my whiteboard and take a picture so that I have a big visual. I find that these kinds of lists are helpful for both small and big projects. When I'm writing a paper, for example, I like to quickly jot down things before AND after I get my grade. This kind of reflection helps me the next time I write a paper. When I worked for a large student organization, my executive team and I wrote a PMD for every single event we held. This not only helped us improved, but it also left a record for the future members of our organization.
Check out my last "Personal Update!" to see my personal PMD for my first Mary Kay event.

Tip 5:
Always listen to leadership, even if they aren’t in color guard. They are just trying to help.
~Field Guide~ Tip 5
*Tip 5: Make sure you have your supplies before leaving the house or any other place.*
After weeks of searching for a particular pencil case i gave up and figured the black hole in my room ate it. When i get a text saying it's at Kaptain's house. How did it get there? It wasn't because i was doodling when i was suppose to be paying attention... Nope most definitely not. And it only took Kaptain till yesterday to tell my bestfreakforever friend that it was there. -siiigh- she lives an hour away and now it's Monday. you couldn't have been a day early? Or maybe a few days later? Now i must wait... Blaaaaarrg. Onward to the hw I forgot about, yes.
