I don't mind the final design, but I preferred them to look like Donnie said what species of turtles they came from in "never say Xever" (Well, besides Raphael, he has a different look, which I picked up by chance).
Tagging: All the brothers have brown or light-brown eyes to accurately convey their blood relation with Splinter.
When I see their faces without masks, they seemed like blind kittens to me, and after embellishing their faces a little, it didn't feel so much like something was missing.
[MASTERPOST]
You know, I'm heartily glad that I have 300 favorite followers with me. You are the best ^^
Hi! I've been wanting to publish a tmnt rewrite post for a long time about what if April's "Half Kraang" arc had lasted a little longer and how will she walk the path after "The Kraang Conspiracy" episode. You, as a writer, I'd like to hear your version of how she would deal with such news rather than accept too quickly that she has been lied to throughout her life.
I'll definitely credit you as an author if I take some of your thoughts in my future post.
Thank you in advance if you read it ^^
Ooo! Yeah, I've been thinking about this too actually. In the 2012 series April seems to accept the fact she's a mutant way too quickly. I wanted to see her come to terms with it, explore how she and others (her dad specifically) feel about it and when did she fully embrace it.
April seems genuinely shocked, scared, like her whole life has been a lie, when first learning she's a mutant and rightfully so, but then the episode ends. After that reveal, she just moves on with her life, not really talking about it and showing concern about her new found identity.
The very next episode is the Fungus Humgus episode so I think it would've been a good start to explore her identity crisis. Maybe instead of the fear she's seeing being her dad as a bat trying to eat her (which can still be included) its her seeing herself transform into a Kraang like monster. Indirectly showing the audience that she's scare and confused, unsure of what exactly she is: "Am I human or a Kraang?! Why and how did this happen to me?! What am I??!!!"
I feel it would also be a good moment for her to talk with Splinter, since he's the only human turned mutant she knows (at this point) who can enlighten her on what it was like, feeling his body change and move into something else entirely, and how he came to accept his new life as a mutant. I think Splinter would admit to April he hasn't fully adjust to his new rat body and there are times he hates what he sees when looking into a mirror, but it's his sons are the ones who keep him going and appreciate the life he has now. It would also be a good bonding moment for her and Splinter, which we needed more of.
I remember one time I made a Tiktok a LONG time ago that basically went like;
Casey: You didn't say your friends are mutants!
April: What's wrong with that?
Casey: Mutants are dangerous!
April, shocked and hurt: I'm a mutant...
So April would have moments like that where she's conflicted with mutant subjects. She's not human enough to be considered "normal" but she doesn't look mutant enough to be with them. She'd torn between two worlds and neither will accept her (cause it's established in later season that some mutants HATE humans: Punks Frogs, Alopex, etc.)
I feel there was also a missed opportunity for April to discuss this with her dad. Kirby must have SOME KNOWLEDGE about April's Kraang origin because he was LITERALLY THERE WHEN THE KRAANG TRIED TO CAPTURE HIS DAUGHTER BUT GOT HIS WIFE INSTEAD!!! (i'll get to more of that later)
The April's mom episode will also really take a toll on her, seeing that Kraang creature and fearing that is what she truly is on the inside. She has seen what she is capable of by this point and I think it would've been interesting to maybe have an episode during the farmhouse arc where April goes away for a bit, scared she'll hurt her friends until Raph is the one who finds her. He'd open up to her and tell her that while he won't understand what she'd going through, he knows he fear she has of hurting loved ones. This would also give a good April and Raph bonding moment of his sharing with her his fear of letting his anger getting the better of him that he harm hurt his brothers. Raph's words will give April the courage to go back the farmhouse.
I've always stood by the concept of April getting more Kraang features the more she begins to embrace and understand her powers. For me, it would start with April having green eyes instead of blue for the entire show (her mom has green eyes and so do the Kraang, subtly foreshadowing, you know?). Then after the season 3 finale, that's when things get crazy.
This moment is when April's Kraang side will really show. After April's freak out of Splinter's death, 6 long skinny pink tentacles will sprout from the back of her neck, pink antennas pop from the top of her head, she eyes glow full green. This is April's new look for the rest of the series. She can easily retracked them but whenever she's feeling intense emotion or even during combat, they sprout out and assist her. I can even imagine her using the tentacles to help her hold things lol.
Once April is in space, that is when she truly comes to love and embrace her Kraang mutant side. Being in space was like a self discovery journey. I feel her befriending and training with Fugitoid would help her embrace that side of her. Fugitoid would train her to properly control her powers, making her comfortable with her Kraang features being out (note: beginning of space arc she'd hide them in shame for looking like the enemy, Mikey thinks they're cool and wants to test them, but the Turtles tell him to give her space and let her adjust). The Utrom Council could also play a role in April learning more about her Kraang side, or even her mother's origin. By the end of the Space arc April would fully embrace her Kraang features and show them off with pride. This will lead to conflict with her father later in season 4.
Side note: I'd also like to add the concept of April befriending Mona Lisa and her being the one to give her ideas of how to fight with her Kraang tentacles, since Mona fights with her tail. Just a cute idea lol
April would finally confront her father about their family connection with the Kraang after returning from space, and it's reveal Kirby has always known she was a mutant Kraang, and her mother had ties with them. He just never wanted to tell her and hoped the Kraang would never find them. He never wanted that side of his daughter to come out, after all he's been through with losing his wife, he feard this Kraang side of his daughter would make him lose her too.
Spoilers for Kpop Demon Hunters, but it will be like the scene when Rumi confronted Celine for making her cover up her demon patterns;
April: Why can't you love me?!
Kirby: I do!
April, Kraang side coming out, full of rage: ALL OF ME!!
This drama would also tie into The Power Inside Her episode (which btw would've been a good season finale after all that build up). I don't know fully how it would play out, but her dad will play a big part in the whole Za-Naron situation. It will end with Kirby finally realizing he's fear is pushing his daughter away and he accepts her for who she is fully and is supportive from there on out.
But those are just a couple of ideas I have for this concept! I hope you like them and I cna't wait to see what you'll do with them! Feel free to add your own creative ideas too :D
What if Raph stayed mind controlled for longer? (TMNT 2012 rewrite)
As much as I love TMNT 2012, one of the things I thought was disappointing was having Raph only be mind-controlled by Shredder for one episode. I think there was a lot of potential to have one of the turtles temporarily be on the villains' side (kinda like how in the IDW comics Leo was brainwashed into becoming part of the foot clan), so I thought 'what if Raph stayed brainwashed for longer?' And now I want to share my idea
(Buckle in folks)
Clash Of The Mutanimals
Clash of the Mutanimals would largely remain the same, Slash and Rockwell are used as test subjects by Stockman and are brainwashed by Shredder, they end up in the turtles' lair where they seem fine, but the mind control worms activate, a fight starts and they end up capturing Raph and bringing him to Shedder where he ends up being brainwashed as well
However, the changes start at the climax of the episode, instead of Leo making Raph mad, which causes him to spit out the mind control worm. It's instead Donnie who manages to break Rockwell free first by insulting him till he's angry enough to spit it out. A now freed Rockwell then uses his psychic powers to blast the worm out of Slash. However when he tries to do it to Raph, it doesn't work, even the Turtles can't make Raph angry like they did with Rockwell. This is when Shedder taunts the turtles during his brawl with them and Mutanimals by revealing that during the time he had sent out Slash and Rockwell as bait, Stockman was able to create a stronger brain worm specifically for one of the turtles. Not only did he want Karai on his side again, but he also wanted to have one of the brothers as well. Just to rub salt in the wound for Splinter, which is why he specifically ordered Slash and Rockwell to bring one of the turtles to him. Eventually, Slash and Leatherhead are able to push the statue on Shredder before a bunch of foot soldiers swarm the room with a still mind-controlled Raph leading them. While the other turtles want to stay and save Raph, the Mutanimals (mainly Rockwell) tell them they have to retreat if they all don't want to be killed, and they reluctantly do so
Back at the lair we get the scene of Slash apologising to Splinter for not only hurting him, but also apologising for what happened to Raph, believing that it was his fault that he got captured. Splinter (though it's clear that he's heartbroken over what happened) reassures Slash that what happened wasn't his or Rockwell's fault. At the very end, Leo promises Splinter that he, Mikey, and Donnie will do everything they can to get Raph back
For the next episodes, we see the heroes struggling with not only trying to find an alternative cure for the brain worms, but with the fact that one of their brothers/son/friends is gone and working for Shredder
Meet Mondo Gecko
Meet Mondo Gecko would for the most part be similar to the original, we see how the characters are dealing with Raph's absence, with Mikey trying to distract himself in his shows, Donnie trying to find a cure for the mind control worms, and Leo endlessly training to basically kick Shredder's ass for what he did to Raph. Also during the race at the end, Fishface tries to taunt Mikey by bringing up what happened to Raph, how he and his brothers failed to save him and for a brief moment it works, but with the help of Mondo and Casey there able to finish the race
At the end of the episode, we cut to Shredder's lair, where we see him train with someone, just as a defeated Fishface walks in. Fishface reveals to Shredder that the turtles haven't been the same since the loss of Raph (noting how angry Mikey got when he taught him about Raph) this pleases Shredder who says "how about we give them a much needed family reunion" before the camera pans to show not only a now brainwashed Karai, but a still brainwashed Raph in a new design that he will keep till The Fortold Trap
Think of the design as a mix of his Vision Quest and Owari design, but more Foot Clan themed. Also due to him losing his Sai's during Clash of the Mutanimals (which Splinter now keeps close to him) He now uses the Shredder claws he used in that same episode as his main weapon
The Deadly Venom
Now this episode notably has a few changes, firstly the beginning of the episode is a flashback that took place before Meet Mondo Gecko, explaining what had happened with Karai and how she got brainwashed. In the present day, Shredder once again orders Karai to take down the turtles, Splinter, April, and Casey, but this time she's joined by Raph, whom Shredder thinks they can use to find them easier (que the two bickering like siblings). During the talk with Splinter and Leo at the start, Leo starts to open up about how he wishes that he wasn't so hard on Raph before he got brainwashed, thinking that if he hadn't antagonized him as much as he did, then he would still be here. Splinter tries to comfort Leo by reassuring him that what happened to Raph wasn't his, Slash's, or anyone else's fault, but it's clear that after that Leo is still upset
With the help of Raph, Karai can find April's home where she uses her venom to poison her. When she fights Casey, at first, he has the upper hand, that is, until Raph joins the fight, and he hesitates, which Karai uses to her advantage to poison him as well. The turtles get an SOS from Casey, both Mikey and Leo go to investigate, and they find Casey, but before they bring him back, they are ambushed by Raph, both shockedbyh how different he looks. They struggle during the fight, not only due to the training Raph had received from Shredder, but also because they don't want to hurt him. During the fight, however, Mikey gets bitten by one of Karai's snakes, and Raph can capture him and Casey. Before he and Karai leave she demands that Leo and Donnie meet them both in the station or else they will kill Casey and Mikey, with no other choice Leo calls Donnie, explains the situation, and the two adventure into the station while Kirby and Splinter watch over a still poisoned April
The episode largely remains the same at this point with Leo and Donnie bring poisoned from the water, but Leo can heal himself with the Healing Hands and fights both karai and Raph, however at one point where Raph has Leo cornered and is a about to strike him but he hesitates, as if his trying to stop himself from hurting him, and Leo notices this. Back at the lair after the others are healed Leo reveals to the others what happened with Raph hesitating, and this gives the others hope that Raph is still in there
Mutanimals episode
ok so this is probably gonna be my biggest change, I'm gonna move Turtles in Time and Tale of the Yokai to take place after The Fortold Trap. In its place would be an episode focusing on the mutanimals, mainly Slash. The episode would focus on Slash's guilt for what happened in Clash Of The Mutanimals. In his mind, if he hadn't tried to ambush Tiger Claw at the docks, none of this would have happened, and Raph wouldn't have gotten brainwashed. Now I'm not gonna go into too much detail on this one cause I'm still trying to come up with ideas for it, but the main thing is that the episode would have a Mutanimals vs Raph and Karai fight that hints again of Raph trying to regain control from the mind control worm. If you're interested in how the episode would go feel free to let me know
Attack Of The Mega Shredder
After finding out that Raph had hesitated in The Deadly Venom and the Mutanimals episode, Shedder has Stockman inject Raph with a serum to make the mind control worm inside him stronger. As he and Karai watch, Shedder reassures her that they will both get their revenge (though we get hints that Karai herself is starting to fight back against the mind control worm). He then orders Bebop and Rocksteady to double the security. Like in the original episode, the other turtles try to break into Shredder's lair to save Raph and Karai as well as get one of the mind control worms, but they end up getting caught and have to retreat, with Donnie being to get his leg broken by Tigerclaw
Leo then tries to sneak into the lair alone, but Mikey follows him and Leo eventually lets him join. Again, the episode largely remains the same, but during the climax, while they try to stop the Mega Shredder, Leo and Karai have a one-on-one. Throughout the episode, Karai was slowly starting to fight back against the worm's control, and eventually with the help of Leo reminding her who she is, she can spit out the brain worm, and now Karai is back on the heroes' side and helps them defeat the Mega Shredder
They bring Karai back, we have a sweet reunion between her and Splinter, and she reveals that Shredder has infected Raph with the serum, making their job to find a cure more difficult. Leo then suggests to Karai that with Shredder being hell bent having her in his clutches, she should temporarily leave New York not get captured again, which she does (explaining her absence for the rest of the season)
The Creeping Doom
This episode is basically the same as the original, just without Raph
The Fortold Trap
Here we are, the finale to this arc. The main difference with this episode is obviously that instead of Karai, it's Raph who lures the team into a trap (also, Casey is here), using his knowledge of his brothers; he lures each of them out into a trap. First Donnie, then Mikey, and finally Leo, Casey, and April, with the help of Shredder's mutants. When April tries to escape and Raph stops her, she pleads with him to snap out of it, but it falls on deaf ears as it's clear that what Stockman injected into Raph in Attack Of The Mega Shredder is working
He brings them into the trap rooms (with Casey being in the fire room), and while April continues to try to tell Raph to let go and snap out of it, he calls Splinter so he can witness the turtles, April, and Casey's demise. With that, Splinter basically goes "screw it" and goes to confront him and Shredder's mutants (bringing Raph's Sai's with him). After beating the mutants, we finally get a Raph vs Splinter fight, though it's clear that he doesn't want to fight his own son. As the turtles and Casey each break out of their trap rooms with the help of April, Splinter begs Raph to fight back against Shredder's control, and eventually, Raph briefly does for a moment. As he does before he can strike, Splinter and Leo together perform the Healing Hands on Raph. Raph stumbles and is about to fall into the rivulet before Donnie and Mikey catch him. And after a brief moment, he finally spits out the brain worm (which Leo quickly kills), he opens his eyes, they're back to normal, and he mutters, "What did I miss, guys?" With that, the Turtles, Splinter, April, and Casey group hug him, crying as they are happy to finally have him back. Raph begins profusely apologizing for everything that happened, how he almost killed them, but they reassure him that what happened wasn't his fault, and that they are just happy to finally have him back after so long. With that, they head home, finally a full team and family again
On Turtles in Time and Tale of the Yokai, the episodes basically remain the same, they just take place after The Fortold Trap
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this rewrite, and I thank you for listening to my ramblings! Feel free to share your thoughts, ideas, and criticisms! And feel free to give suggestions on what I could rewrite next
Yeah how do you know so much about the Triceratons Newt?
Lore dump for anyone interested down here:
The main leaders leading the resistance are Splinter, Karai, Bishop, Casey and Angel's dad, Slash and Newtralizer. Newt originally wasn't apart of the lead, but the others noticed his knowledge and him being able to navigate thru Triceraton tech and even knowing some of their weaknesses. Surprised by this, they offer him a position in the resistance. Newt was rather hesitant, and he felt upset he showed his knowledge too much than he should have. But that hesitance quickly died out because he didn't want yet another alien invasion so he immediately joined.
Newt's role is essentially him helping the team navigate and providing tech to stop the triceratons. Along with pointing their weak spots. Basically the smart guy along with Bishop. Newtralizer frequently tells them that he just knows his way around tech and has always been a tech guy. But whenever he says something or someone questions him, he always catches Bishop glaring at him. Which causes him to be anxious around the Utrom. Sometimes even threatening him for "no reason".
It Will have My headcanons( Aroace April, transfem Leo, Jonatello etc)
- The crush of Donnie with April Will stay for a while but not so creapy like the cannon
- Leo Will not have a crush with Karai, instead he Will have gender envy, the relationship of them it's of Freedom don't having to worry for his team all the time
- April and the turtles Will have a siblings behavior because this relationship it's one of my favorites
- Casey it's gay, the way that it's with April its for the doubts of people who may be assholes with April
- when she Tell the turtles that she it's Aroace because she trust them, they Will don't know what it means for living in the sewers and Splinter don't knowing to much about the topic for growing up in Japan
- For that it's that April like Casey Will explain to them the LGTB+Q, that it's when Leo Will be thinking thing like being trangender( that how i put in My future desaigns, she Will Tell to her family after Splinter's death)
- After that the other turtles will know they own identidy in theirs own times( ex: Mikey as pan, Donnie and Raph being bi, Raph using he/she pronouns, Mikey any and Donnie he/they) all this before the farm house arc
- Obviously that mean that the kiss that April give to Donnie and the whole Big foot episode Will not exist
- Donnie and Casey Will start dating after the whole speed demon fiasco, after knowing that maybe they can't SEE anymore for the car mutant
- Mikey x Renet and Raph x Mona Will stay here because this two ship are My favorite in canon
- April and Casey Will stay in the vision quest, one because Will be something great in her kunoichi path and two because they need it that strenght before going to new York
- April Will have Kraang or well Utroms features meanwhile she it's more with one with her Powers.
- she first Will not like it because she looks like the Kraang but after with the confort of her found family she Will start embraicing it
- it's for that features that in the planet of the Journey in the Center of Mikey she can go with the turtles and fugitoid
- in the episode that we know more about the Utroms, Casey and April Will go to the dimensión x, that Will be a opportunity for April to know more about her half alien and understand more about the Utroms and like it more her Powers( and i think it's a opportunity for Comander Sal that know that the Utroms are not so Bad like the Kraang, for knowing April that she half part of them)
- Shinigami and Karai are openly dating, so no Mikey traying to flirt with the witch, and because he it's loyal to Renet
- Apocalypse mutant it's a alternative universe and the only thing not canon in this timeline, the other stories, like '87 turtles, Usagi, Kavaxas, the worlds collide and the halloween Journey in infact happened to them
- Meanwhile the tales of tmnt it's happening Leo it's already a women and like My drawing she it's called now Lyeena
- in the two crossover with the '87 turtles, they know to fight because i don't like how wrong the writters did them( and in turtles forever too), the '12 don't train them because obviously they know how use their weapons, instead how i put in one of My post it's that the turtles of differents interations are like extended family
- Something that it's not part of the rewrite but it Will be funny how it's, it's that when '87 Donatello see the party vagon he Will understand the similarities with that and the turtlemobile
Please don't tell me that almost it's look the same
