what tmr characters do you think would believe in ghosts?
Ohmygosh HERE WE GO. TERESAAAA.
first and foremost, I AM NOT GONNA SIT HERE AND BULLY TERESA. THAT IS NOT MY GOAL OR PURPOSE FOR THIS. IF I EVER SAW TERESA IN PERSON, MY FIRST INSTINCT WOULD NOT BE TO HARM HER. She needs a hug just like the rest of the tmr kids.
HOWEVER, that doesn't mean I necessarily like her 100%. You guessed it, it's because of what she did.
YES, SHE HAD REASONS. I also completely UNDERSTAND those reasons. But that doesn't eliminate the fact that what she did was wrong. I feel like the books were much more...brutal, with her betrayal. The movies made me sympathize with her more (and keep in mind, i watched the movies before I read the books) because it was obvious she was doing it all for "the cure." But even then, her betrayal hurt like crap because you can just SEE the pain it caused for the others, especially Thomas - on the cliff where they were talking before literal disaster happened.
gosh bro, see this is why I actually love complex characters because there's sides to them that you DON'T have to fully like and aren't obliged to completely agree with everything they do or say. I mean, that's my take for Teresa at least. When I read the books, I was able to get a much better comprehension of what Teresa went through and her overall role in the series. It wasn't just a supposed "love interest" to the main character, no. Bubba, she had her own agenda in this – or moreso WICKED's agenda.
That's what makes my stomach sort of twist when I really think about her. She's so concerned and caught up with finding that cure and listening to WICKED that it almost looks like she doesn't care for the lives of others – to a certain extent. If it isn't Thomas that's getting hurt in some way, then she's mostly fine with whatever needs to be done.
It's also, again, a major difference between her and Thomas. Like we said before, Thomas has this guilt radar that made him human and gave him the sympathetic qualities that are absolutely necessary for a person. Teresa had that for probably in the beginning stages of being at WICKED, but we can see how quickly she is at tuning that out and going to work. It's honestly a little disturbing – quite disturbing, actually.
In tko, if I recall correctly, it specifically said she was building these protective walls around herself mentally and emotionally to prevent herself from breaking. Again, totally understandable. But it comes to a point where it's like, okay, where's your moral compass and do you still have it? The cure you are so desperately seeking after, is it costing you your humanity? She agreed with WICKED when they said stuff like "if we have to lose a million lives to save others, then so be it." Dude, I GET IT, but who in the world wants to kill that many human beings for the sake of your studies?!?!
They technically never even found the cure in the books. Thomas escaped before they could do anything to his brain (imagined if THAT failed, too. So many lives lost due to their failed predictions and experiments. Because that's all they view humans now as: experiments) so, really, what was the POINT dude. This could just be Dashner's bad writing atp, but Teresa's whole...character, her whole being, was devoted to getting that dang cure, she looked helplessly glued to WICKED.
The things she did to Thomas in the books were more hurtful than the movies. Plain and simple, imo.
She thinks a kiss on the lips with Thomas will solve anything between them?? Girl, no. I know she knows it wouldn't, but c'mon. That was a low blow, so much so that Thomas didn't even like her as he used to.
Seriously, what was the reason for her betrayal in the books??? I'M GONNA THROW A TABLE DUDE RRghhjjAGGGHAA
Anyway, I think movie Teresa and book Teresa are different, sort of like how I said Minho in the movies experienced different things than book Minho.
I also think WICKED twisted her general nice, sharp (in terms of intelligence) self into something programmed for them, for their work. She was a kid like Thomas and the others, so what choice did she have? BUT, THERE'S THE CATCH. SHE ACTUALLY DID. EVEN IN THE FACE OF ALL THAT. Thomas was the one who suggested the idea of going into the Maze with the goal of saving his friends and getting them out of there, AWAY from WICKED. He was too concerned for them to care about the consequences.
I'm not sure if Teresa told Ava Paige his plan because I'm pretty sure it didn't reveal that deatail, but she was obviously in on the plan of sending Thomas in the Maze without his memories even though they specifically said for that not to happen. I need the details dude. WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED BEFORE THOMAS GOT DRUGGED BY THAT TEA AND WHAT HAPPENED DURING THAT TIME??!?!?
It's just so unfair bro. Teresa kept her memories and took the credit for his plan (if I'm not wrong. They wanted to say she came up with it to avoid any suspicions, right? Or because she was more of their favorite now?) and continued to choose WICKED over and over again.
Her death was sad, too, and unfortunate. And just as terrible as any other person's death. (The severity of it on an emotional level can be different, though.) If i had to put the blame on anyone during all of this, it'd clearly be WICKED, because they're the ones who forced these kids to ultimately make decisions they SHOULDN'T HAVE TO.
(Help I love how u do the photos of the character haha so professional)
I HAVE SAID IT BEFORE AND ILL SAY IT AGAIN. MOVIE TERESA AND BOOK TERESA ARE ENTIRELY DIFFERENT CHARACTERS.
Book Teresa:
-was manipulating Thomas from the beginning
-did things that were UNNECESSARILY cruel (like bash Thomas with a gas chamber and sexually assault him (look up the definition of sexual assault before you go fighting with me))
-didn’t have compassion or morality
-saw Thomas as something that was hers (eg the lab partner that was gifted to her and she clung to it)
(I would give examples and proof of these facts but I’ve literally written so many texts posts on Teresa that I’m not bothered to anymore just take my word Yall or reread the books for urself)
Movie Teresa:
-she has the ability to sympathise at times
-wasn’t trying to manipulate Thomas
-was more unsure of herself
-still struggled to see anyone that wasn’t Thomas as more than a subject
Both:
-almost entirely created by wicked and trauma
-thought they were doing the right thing
Was it the right thing tho?
Hell no!
sorry I’m enjoying this too much.
I don’t think I can say this better myself so I’m copying it
She's so concerned and caught up with finding that cure and listening to WICKED that it almost looks like she doesn't care for the lives of others – to a certain extent. If it isn't Thomas that's getting hurt in some way, then she's mostly fine with whatever needs to be done.
Amen sister.
See that’s the thing too, when you said in the beginning stages at wicked she probably had more of those human qualities like Thomas has me thinking of this scene in the fever code where Ratman tells Thomas (when he was getting tortured into taking his name) tha Teresa happily took her new name and was working with the others. It was that instant complacency to wicked that I feared would always have her on their side—and nothing they did could ever be wrong.
My thing with Teresa is not the fact she betrayed them and agreed with wicked—bc that can be brought on by trauma responses and upbringing. But it’s the things she did that were just plain cruel, unnecessary and had nothing to do with the cure. Also just the extent at which she did things and how she went about betraying them (not just the fact she did).
Also I agree with the “she didn’t have a choice” thing u said bc no it’s not that she didn’t have a choice it’s that she WANTED to work for wicked. (Which in all fairness she had clung to that at the young age of five after watching people become monsters and kill each other around her so I can cut her some slack obviously)
I also really want to know the conversations Ava had with Teresa…(also can we talk about how fucked up Thomas getting drugged when Teresa knew it was going to happen and right before she told him she was gonna help save his friends like woahhhhhg)
I agree. At the end of the day it is Wicked who did this. To KIDS!!! Which is even more fucked up. Teresa was what five when she turned up at wicked? Already traumatised to death and scared? I mean who abuses and manipulates a bloody five year old? I mean it’s bad enough already.
And if your upbringing is what shapes you as a person can I really blame her?
I honestly don’t know.
But ik a lot of the other characters would have had similar trauma and they still had morals.
No one can make an accurate judgement on Teresa bc it’s impossible to know what she would’ve been like with a normal healthier upbringing. Or understand everything she went through.
I absolutely love her character tho. Bc she is what ultimately drove the story forward and had you stuck in this moral torture of ‘who’s good who’s bad and who can I trust?’
She made it captivating, thrilling and thought provoking. Without Teresa there wouldn’t be as much plot.
Anyways. Wow istg I physically CAN NOT shut up… sorry…

FLUFFY Drabble Prompts!
Hey guys!
After all that angst, here are a few fluffy drabble prompts! Again, I’ll be writing for Newt, Gally, Minho, & Thomas.
Character A is desperate for Character B’s body heat. (w/ Gally)
Character A calls Character B a pet name for the first time, & Character B gets all flustered. (w/ Newt)
Character A loves playing with Character B’s hair. (w/ Gally)
Character A falls asleep somewhere other than their bed, so Character B carries them to bed & Character A asks B to stay with them. (w/ Thomas)
I’ll start with these, then I’ll post some fluffy dialog prompts 👍
Thanks!
a concept: tmr characters having an easter egg hunt but there’s lots of arguing over who found the eggs first

summary: when wckd sends a girl up into the glade, dr. crawford learns about dr. paige's great-grandmother, gretchen klein, and realizes that it must run in their family to experiment on teenagers.
wc: 1.1k
warnings: knives, implication that girl glader was supposed to be for the gladers' pleasure, mentions of the basic plot of the wilds, talk of canon deaths/injuries in the wilds
a/n: so i thought of this a couple days ago at midnight and couldn't get it out of my head and then i wrote it within a couple hours while doing schoolwork. it wasn't supposed to end up being crack lol but then all of a sudden it was. that being said: this fic does not represent my views on the character of dr. crawford whatsoever. i do not actually believe that she was lacking in common sense. i just needed a character for ava paige to interact with and then the characters just ran with it. so it ended up being a silly goofy little one shot that i hope you enjoy!
Quick question to those in the tmr fandom, do any of you still care about character aesthetics? I have a bunch just sat in my drafts I completely forgot about and I don’t know whether to post them or not, let me know if you’re interested in seeing them?

{Requested by @world-of-idea} Request/description: have you ever considered doing ships? If not, could you write newt fanfict where the girl character is thomas' little sister and newt's a bit scared of having feelings for her but eventually they both end up together with Thomas "blessing". A/N: I'm sorry this has taken so long and that I've procrastinated writing. I'm focusing of school first, then writing when I can. Warnings: None Word count: 1432 *** He hated you. Well, sort of. He hated the way you made him feel. It scared him. He was usually fine in the Glade, on a normal day. But that all had to change when you arrived, didn't it? Because now, he could think of nothing else. Just you. The way you smiled and how your hair would softly brush against your cheek when the wind blew. He'd laugh whenever you rolled your eyes a Minho or stuck your tongue out at Thomas. These were the little things that made his heart trip over itself. The little things that changed Newt forever. *** "Could you hurry it up, Y/N?" Thomas said behind you as you laced up your shoes. You finished your right shoe and internally rolled your eyes at Thomas. You moved to your left and made sure to take twice as long tying the two strings together. Thomas groaned and leaned against the Runners hut, tapping his fingers against the door frame impatiently. After a whole minute had passed, you finally stood up straight and brushed off your pants. "Ready," you smirk." "You know, why couldn't Chuck be my sister?" Thomas sighed. "He doesn't take an entire year to tie his shoes." You shrug. "You shouldn't have rushed me." Thomas pushes your shoulder lightly and jogs in front of you to the opening in the Glade. You follow closely and even attempt to step on the back of his shoe. You kept missing thought and to your disappointment, you reached the Glade before you could get it to come off. Minho waved to you from Frypans kitchen and you nodded back. It was his day off so you and Thomas got to run together. Wonderful. You put your hands on your hips, waiting for the Maze doors to open. You glance around and look at all the others who were already awake. Some of the builders, Alby, Newt and Frypan. Newt stood from his work and leaned on the rake he was using. He looked up to you and squinted against the rising sun. When he realized you were looking, he froze and held up a hand in a rigid pose. You guessed he was attempting to say hello, but he looked like he was in pain instead. You wave back to him regardless and you can barely see him smile to himself. Finally the Maze doors open and you follow Thomas out. Then you begin sprinting, ready for another day in the Maze. *** Newt waited anxiously for you to get back. It was his favorite part of the day. He got to talk to you and be near you. Even eat with you at dinner if you were back by then. Those were his favorite days. Finally there was five minutes until the Maze doors were to close, and you followed Thomas out on time, like always. Newt jogged up to you and nudged your shoulder. "So how was running today?" You chuckled. "This shuck face won't shut up." Thomas narrowed his eyes at you but you didn't take it back. Newt grinned and folded his arms. "You should've seen him the first day he got here. I've never heard so many questions asked before." "I'm still waiting to find out who qualified Gally to carry around a potentially deadly ax when he hates everyone. Seriously, who's bright idea was that?" Thomas shakes his head. Newt ignores his question and focuses on you. "Y/N," Newt says anxiously. "Mind if I talk to you?" You let your comfortable smile slip from your lips and nod. Had you done something wrong as a Runner? Newt was second in command after all and he could remove you from that position if he needed to. But you could've sworn that you'd obeyed all the rules... Thomas promises to finish up all the mapping and let's you walk to the Homestead with Newt. You lean against one of the pillars there for support and Newt looks from his feet to you. "I-I can't explain why, but you frustrate me." Newts eyebrows folded and you have the urge to trace them. You loved every little thing they did. Heck you loved every part of his face. "...Sorry? Did I do something wrong?" You ask innocently. You rub at the bone in your elbow. "No, not at all. Well..." Newt thought for a second before shaking his head and squeezing his eyes shut. "No. You can't help it." You raise a single eyebrow and adjust your position. "Newt? Would you please explain why you're acting so odd?" Newt took a deep breath and nodded, opening his eyes. "Okay, okay yeah." You both wait for a second. You knew the words were waiting to spill from Newts mouth, but it seemed like he didn't know how to force them out. "I...like you." "But you just said I frustrate you..." "No, I mean, you do but in a good way." You relax your arms and shake your head, laughing lightly at how flustered he was. "Newt, you're making no sense." He lets out a breath he seemed to be holding for an eternity. "Can- can I just..." Newt gets a little closer and you don't move. Your breathing slows, nearly stops, and you watch his body language. No way. He gets close enough to you that you can feel his heat and you still don't budge. Instead you have the urge to get closer. Newt watches your eyes closely and looks for any signs that you want him gone. You give none. You lean that last little distance and press your mouth to his, showing him that now you knew what he meant, and that you felt the same. It was the first kiss you could remember, but to be honest you were okay with that. After a moment, Newt pulls away and you find that your hands had wandered up to his neck. You remove them slowly and a smile plays at the corner of your mouth. "Why didn't you just do that in the first place?" Newt lets out a relieved chuckle and kisses you again. *** Did he have to do this? Yes. He had to, right? Newt slides a hand down his face and closes his eyes for a moment. Times like this he really wished he could remember life before the Glade. Thomas had just gotten back from running the next day and Newt walked up next to him as he drank out of a water bottle. "Thomas?" Thomas swallowed the mouthful of water he had and nodded. "What's up?" "I need to ask you something about Y/N." Newt pushed a hand through his hair and let out a breath. "If she said anything about me face planting in the Maze, it's not true," Thomas counters quickly. Newt gives a confused look but shakes his head. "No, nothing like that. It's just that I really like her. And, surprisingly she likes me too. I wanted to ask you if it was okay if I dated her. Since you know, you're my friend and her brother." Thomas pauses for a second before bursting out laughing. "You're asking my permission?" Newt folded his arms and raised an eyebrow. "Yes." "Dude. Of course you can. Maybe now that you two are together she'll stop talking about you in the Maze. Do you know how many times she's threatened to break a bone of my body if I told you that?" Newts cheeks went hot and he laughed a little. "Guess not. But thanks, Tommy." Newt clapped him on the shoulder and went off to find you. You were just done getting changed from your running clothes when you heard someone knock at your door. You tell them to come in and they hurriedly do. Immediately, Newts mouth is on yours. You kiss him back for a second but then put a little distance between you so you can see his face. "Woah there. I was only gone for a couple hours, Newt." He shook his head. "That's not why I'm here." You furrow your eyebrows and wait for him to continue. "I asked Thomas if he'd be alright with us being together and he said it was okay. And that you talk about me." You went ridged. "I'm going to kill him," you mutter to yourself. Then louder to Newt: "That's amazing! And I can't believe you asked him." "Bad idea?" Newt said cautiously. You slowly wind your arms around his neck and shake your head. "No, just very sweet." "Good," Newt murmurs.
