wow you’ve created an environment where trans women are afraid to post about transfeminism because they don’t want to get threatened and harassed? definitely not an MRA movement in the slightest

Is “transandrobabies” really another term people are trying out to deride trans men and mascs speaking on our oppression?
Really?
When one of the things we constantly talk about is that we are infantilized to hell and back?
Actually?
I am… y’know. I wish I could say I was surprised. But at this point I’m not. This is not what genuine criticism of transmasc theory looks like, it’s not ever done a good job being dressed up to pretend that way, and the people coming up with these terms of derision absolutely know what they’re doing.
In Support of TMRAs
"If you are not a transmasc rights activist, you are not a materialist transfeminist."
If you are not a transmasc rights activist, you are not a materialist transfeminist.
You call it "misandry", I call it self-defense and a survival strategy for women. We are not the same.
i do think its absurd behavior to observe the actions and ideological ends of "transandrophobia" mras and believe that they're anything other than a bad faith attempt to legitimize and solidify transmisogynistic ideas within trans spaces. Like these guys clearly have a protocol for approaching transfems who challenge them and that protocol largely consists of depersoning, delegitimizing, and silencing the women who attempt to correct their batshit ideas.
As a personal anecdote, in 2022, many blogs before this one, I observed a plane of theyfab discourse hitting the towers. A transfem on twitter dot com had made a post along the lines of "some ppl will say they're t4t when they're really just theyfab4theyfab." I read this as a frustrated criticism of the ways in which transmisogynist tme trans people will primarily form community with each other and cover for transmisogynistic behavior whilst disregarding transfems in the name of ""solidarity"" with one another.
This was blown leagues out of proportion by tme ppl both here and on twitter, and resulted in some rlly unbalanced "criticism" of her and her beliefs and principles. In an effort to combat this, I had replied, very naively, to a reblog chain of transmascs expressing their discomfort with what she'd said in ways that were increasingly accusatory, and exaggerated, frankly.
I replied with along the lines of an explanation of my interpretation of her post, and shared some of her work surrounding transness to give a fuller perspective on why she said that and how it could be contextualized. I was told, by a fairly prominent tmra at the time, that I was "shilling for her" and covering for transandrophobic rhetoric. I think it kind of revealed a layer of tmra stuff to me that I hadn't seen before laid out so clearly. To contextualize transfems, to treat them as intellectual beings with full lives and experiences and beliefs, is a privilege which can be removed in a moment of transgression. Transfems are only ever contextualized and personified in snippets of tweets and clips of podcasts. A transfem can't be a woman with complex philosophies and ideas that are worth understanding and engaging with. They're only worth as much as a quick dunk on tumblr. And to try and contextualize them, to try and lend them legitimacy as intellectual people, is to threaten the stability of the transandrophobia structure. Because transandrophobia is not built to engage with transfeminist theory meaningfully, it is built to silence transfems and villainize them as irrational transphobic bigots. This is obvious to pretty much any tma person who's ever engaged with tmras, but I wanted 2 share it to maybe lend some perspective to tme folks who are trying to interpret these guys in good faith or engage with them genuinely. Transandrophobia is not a complex theory of intersectionality, it is a cardboard set with nothing behind it. They're roadrunner tunneling you. lol.
