My university packing list. (not sure if too little or too much?)
I’ve been keeping random lists (phone, paper lists) and as the uni life approaches (engineering program), I really need to get my shit organized and compile a more comprehensive list. Since I’ll be living off-campus straight up from first year, there’s also a shit ton of things to bring. I’m trying to keep the list brief and short, since I know I’ll be moving around a lot because of co-op (plus I doubt I’d have enough space to store everything). Hopefully, most of my stuff can be shoved in two large plastic storage boxes and a suitcase (minus furniture).
Just for my personal use, here’s the final list.
Academics and school-related things:
Mountain Warehouse backpack (because those things are solid af, have a million pockets ♥ and are lighter than Swiss Gear backpacks)
Line paper x like 5 packs
Spiral notebooks (give me life)
GRAPH paper spiral notebook x5?
Paper organizer (divider thing)
Pencil case with my nice pens and highlighter and stuff
Mechanical pencils, lead and eraser
Cork board (& thumbtacks)
Desktop computer and double monitor and all that stuff
Phone and charger (don’t think I’ll forget this one)
Printer/photocopier/scanner all-in-one
Power bar with surge protector
USB because maybe I’ll need one for printing?
Kitchen-things (not including food):
Small saucepan (to cook pasta, rice, oatmeal, quinoa... a staple in the kitchen)
Crock-pot (because I know I won’t have time to cook all the time)
Mixing bowls kit + measuring cups
Chinese cleaver (because that’s my type of high-quality knife)
Some other small fruit knife
Nice sharp shears or scissors
Colander or sieve-like thing
Baking sheet pan (doubles as a grill pan)
Oven mitts (doubles as heat-resistant trivet)
Thermometer (because I can’t be trusted with meats without one)
Mug x ONE ONLY (I need to chill, I can’t possibly need all my mugs)
Dishes (bowl x2, plates x2, some chopsticks, hopefully that’s all that I’ll need)
Kitchen scale????????????????
Ice cube tray maybe for smoothies wait nvm I don’t even have a blender :(
Bed, bath and other toiletries:
Thick blanket for Canadian winter
Shampoo, conditioner and body wash
Toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and cup
Medicine box and first aid kit
Ikea portable clothes rack
Large plastic storage boxes x2
Summer most-worn outfits x6
Winter sweater outfits x6
Co-op business formal attire outfit x3
Semi formal dress (the black and the red one)
Infinity scarf and all my other scarves
Fall jacket (the checkered red one)
Winter jacket (the navy blue one)
Umbrella (the smol blue one)
IDs and SIN card? idk I don’t think I’ll need my passport yet l o l
Alarm clock (needneedneed, fml 8:30 classes)
Canvas and mechanical clock diy thing
Locker lock? (you never know when you’ll need a lock)
