It's funny becasue I hated every character in the first half of the movie and then when the Indominus escapes I started to love everyone, even the asshole older brother. It was like a different movie.
Also the only reason I liked the military guy was because i love to make fun of characters that are stupid like that. I was honesty laughing my ass off at the stupid shit he would say
I had a similar experience with the characters. Like, the big brother was so irritating for the first half of the movie and when he took his brother on that "off the grid tour" I was so annoyed because how stupid can you get? Did he not realize he was in a park full of pre-historic beasts? Or was his complete lack of respect and fear toward the dinosaurs supposed to show that modern audiences didn't care about dinos anymore and looked at them as if they were nothing more than elephants? But yeah, my annoyance levels dropped when shit finally hit the fan and I really liked the younger brother and Claire and Owen and Owen's French friend.

I agree with the aunt Claire stuff. But I also like how they had Owen be like "you can't survive in those shoes" and she KICKS ASS IN THOSE SHOES. Also I don't know if IR was a weapon or if they had just been working to GM a weapon iced Dino.
Lol I can't even stand in heels, let alone run in them! I know people have been bitching about Claire not removing her heels and changing into something more *sensible* and I almost thought she was going to when she tied up her shirt to look like Ellie Sattler, but damn, she obviously had no need for any sneakers! That closeup of her feet as she's running from the T-Rex was kinda awesome imo :P
I kinda missed it on the first viewing, but this time I got the impression from the scene between Masrani and Wu that the IR was their first attempt at designing a dinosaur to be used as a weapon by Wu by Hoskins' orders. It had all the qualities needed in a weaponized animal like being able to camouflage, hide from infrared and above average intelligence. Only its size seemed to be a negative surprise in the first version, but I think Hoskins said something about the next one being smaller.
