I've spoken at length about the various direct resistance protests this group has been involved in over the past year, occupying outside buildings connected to the increasingly trans hostile political environment of the UK. A couple of weeks ago, they staged two protests simulataneously in London and Glasgow outside EHRC buildings. The one in London went relatively well, but with fewer boots on the ground to help, the protest in glasgow saw children violently arrested on "disturbing the peace" charges. They were injured during and after the arrest, and when allies tried to intervene, police shoved them arround among themselves to justify an "assault on an officer" charge.

These activists do amazing work, support them through donations if you can, joining them (look on their website), or physically show up for them at their next protest

I've just got back from a chalk'n'talk protest with @defundtransphobes on Instagram a group that works to highlight the harm caused by transphobic funding from the author of the harry potter franchise JK rowling

Waterstones is one of the biggest sellers of her merchandise and each sale puts money directly in the pockets of hateful organisations who want to legislate trans people out of existence.

So please support your indie books stores and libraries, boycott Harry Potter, don't watch the new TV show, don't talk about HP or JKR except to call out her attacks on trans people.

Get in contact and follow deftrans to support them in their work. Join us for a chill loving protest, come and see if you can draw an even better shark than the amazing one we did today.

I know it's scary, but we can't just sit like frogs in boiling water.

Nothing's going to get better until we truly fight back. Not just complain and sink into depression on social media. Not just voting when given the chance, because we won't get the chance.

Going out into the real world and making ourselves known, making ourselves felt, we've seen this play out before we know the only solution, we've tried quiet peace. We've tried being unintrusive. Those things are never seen, they are easy to ignore. They think they can silence us, so we have to give them something that they can't ignore.

There's already a day dedicated to fighting for freedom.
