HAPPY TRANSGENDER DAY OF VISIBILITY! Since i don't have an art piece prepared (:(), i just wanted to highlight some of my favorite canon (or implied canon) trans characters in anime :3

Now, this isn't everyone (because if it was, we'd be here all day) but these few are my absolute top favorite trans characters! It's always so hard to find good transgender representation in anime because japan, lowkey, is kinda transphobic. 9 times out of 10, the transgender characters are treated like a joke or a fetish. As someone who's transmasc, i'm always so excited to see well written and normalized transgender and genderqueer representation in anime and japanese media :D.

okay so. since the only exact opposite of "androgynous" is "gendered", rather than an exact characterizing term of 'neither masc or femme' then lets create our own, shall we?

i thought of three possible terms, and i want the one most liked to be used.

disandrogynous - most obvious possibility, given that the prefix 'dis' means reverse or opposite.

nonvirette - non obviously means abscense or lack of. i saw that vir can mean masculine, and ette is a common suffix for feminine.

disandrotrix - dis, same as before. andro means masculine, and trix is also a feminine suffix.

so, prideblr, do your thing. choose your favorite!
