Mig-29 on Metalstorm: Another very Speedy Aircraft, and with good Guns – May 2025
I got to unlock the Mig-29 Fighter Aircraft on the Metalstorm Game recently, and initially I thought it was just mediocre in the Game, until I realized that its very high optimum Turn Rate speed of over 800 kph and powerful Cannons gives it a number of Advantages when doing Dogfights …

The F-5 Freedom Fighter is the first Aircraft you get to play in the Game, and I initially didn’t think very highly of it. But as I learned more from Tutorials and Experience, I got to appreciate the Aircraft a lot because of its high Maneuverability if used properly, and keeping a close eye on the Turn Rate Indicator (TRI)

Jaguar GR3 on Metalstorm Review: Great Weapons and Armor, but not so Maneuverable - March 2025
F-5 Freedom Fighter on Metalstorm Review: First Aircraft in the Game, very Maneuverable – March 2025
To all those who are new to the Metalstorm Game and still using the F-5 Freedom Fighter, I will do a Review of it later, but my Advice for yuu now is to keep a close watch on the Turn Rate Indicator (TRI), which iis that Vertical Line on the Left Side of your Heads Up Display (HUD).
The TRI turns Yellow when you are the optimal or Best Speed and Turn Rate for your particular Aircraft. You can adjust to keep it Yellow by using the Afterburners or Air Brakes on your Aircraft, which are the Up and Down Arrow Buttons on the Right Side of your Screen.
Use Afterburners (the Up Arrow) if you are going too slow or the TRI Arrow is below the optimal Level. Or use the Air Brakes (the Down Arrow) if you are going too fast or the TRI Arrow is above the optimal Level.
That being said, I find it relatively easy to keep the TRI Yellow on the F-5, I don’t touch use the Afterburners or Air Brakes as much. If you can do this, then I feel sorry for any Aircraft who tries to dogfight with the F-5 at close Range. I recently got six and seven Kills with only Death in two Games with it.
