Sometimes I wonder if the reason Bonnie claimed to feel death after touching Stefan that first time wasn’t actually because Stefan was undead or responsible for the deaths of so many people, but it was actually a glimpse at her own future, a warning that if she allowed Stefan to enter her life, she was welcoming death into her life. And I say that because of her words, “It’s how I imagine death to feel like.” And I think we can agree that Bonnie felt death maybe the most after the Salvatores entered her life. And of course I do know that Bonnie senses vampires when touching them, but that isn’t always the case, and we could chalk that up as a writing error, but where is the fun in that? And I wonder if when witches touch supernatural entities, they sense magic maybe, or maybe the sense how this person will affect their own selves.

Because if it were an all the time sense, which it kinda appears to be a passive skill, as when she accidentally makes contact and she isn’t expecting to feel whatever she feels each time, and she has a look of shock when she feels the magic of a witch or a vampire. The only time she really sought it out was I think Caroline? But I think because it’s a passive skill, it’s also not an every time skill, a premonition of what this entity means for her specifically, and it’s a warning on the first time. Because if it isn’t, imagine feeling death every time she hugs Caroline? Elena later on? And even including her friendship with Damon, how does she handle that? Especially Damon. And there are the moments she is fooled by Katherine (I think. I do think Caroline and Bonnie win still at least fooled, but even then, it’s hard to tell. I do excuse them for the Katherine taking over Elena’s body for a few reasons, but I can get into that later).

But I also think the reason why this skill appears less and less is because her life gets so encroached by death, on and on and on. She is so steeped into it, the warning becomes moot. And it’s why other witches can sense her being so surrounded by death later on.

And the words “It’s how I imagine death to feel like” and not “it felt like he was dead” makes me think of her becoming the anchor later, and how instinctually tied to death she becomes (I do think we as a fandom should probably discuss how Bonnie was briefly a minor deity in a way. But also the whole Silas and Amara plot line was so iffy that I can excuse that we don’t discuss that. But I do think it was really cool how Bonnie technically was that for a moment).

This whole thought is kinda of messy, so I understand not really want to adopt it lol, but just a thought I had.

Especially since I think Stefan is the reaper in her life more than anyone else. The other reason I say it’s more likely a warning, is because of Elena and Tyler themself. I wonder if she as a young kid felt the magic of them, but young as she was didn’t really think about it. Maybe it’s why she never really connected with Tyler. Maybe the fact that a doppelgänger and a Bennet witch are intertwined is why she connected to Elena despite it, or maybe she was too young to think of it.

Because yes, Bonnie’s life was thrown of kilter the moment the Salvatore’s came to town. But it’s also not completely the Salvatore’s fault either. She was the Bennet Witch and her best friend is the Doppelgänger, it was always a matter of time (which I really do love about the show, it first leads you to believe that the Salvatores are the reason these teens lives seem to erupt in flames, but no, the Salvatores are strangely just a victims to the doppelgänger shit as the rest of them. Even if you erase the whole Silas and Amara and Qetsiyah thing. Even then.) But I think Stefan’s presence was the most palpable because it was the moment when her life truly was at the precipice of change. And we never really see her react with the same intensity again, and yeah, that could be because it was the first time something inherently witchy happened to her, but also, I think it was because he really was the precursor for change.

headcanons:

-klaus is a power bottom but when the full moon hits he’s just an animal and has to be the one on top 🫡 klaus’ wolf’ side also makes him absolutely feral when it comes to stefan’s scent (he sleeps with stefan’s shirts next to him if stefan ever has to leave somewhere)

-I do think stefan has some bratty sub energy even if he’s usually a gentle dom (I think stefan’s a brat in general but hides it underneath his hero hair and martyr complex) and the ripper is a brutal dom in the best way. if klaus didn’t heal he’d have an abundance of bite marks everywhere, whenever he and the ripper do it

-I think klaus and stefan understand each other’s nature in a way no one else does and with no judgement. stefan is klaus’ anchor and his greatest weakness. klaus is stefan’s darkness and greatest temptation.

-they would kill for each other and they both have enough daddy and abandonment issues to be co-dependent. klaus gets jealous in a “screaming, crying, throwing up” way, stefan gets “no thoughts, head empty, hands bloody” jealous.

-klaus always cleans up stefan’s bloodbaths, cause he thinks it’s romantic.

Ravens are known for being among the most intelligent birds. They use tools, exhibit problem-solving skills, and have the ability to mimic human speech. Ravens are Elijah in bird form and I will die on this hill

Great Pyrenees

These dogs are known for unflinching loyalty, protectiveness, and being absolute savages when it comes to dealing with threats against those in their care. They are also known for being intelligent and very soft with small children and other pets. I think that covers Elijah very well

Panther

Another fighting mode form. Elijah is another Original I associate heavily with cats. Panthers are known for being stealthy, strong hunters, and generally creatures you don't want to mess with.

Sitting here with the headcanon of Lucy Bennett as a freelance investigator of the arcane who gets into a lot of crap with Mason. During season 5 she revives Bonnie and takes her out of Mystic Falls as her apprentice. None of her being an anchor going through immense pain. She teaches Bonnie different types of magic and how to fight instead of relying on her magic so much.

Laz’s tvdu headcanon 6

So like we know that the tvdu is not our universe, historical events happened differently, embarked differently, even if maybe they same things occurred-ish.

10 Things that I think happened because of the Mikaelsons (and others):

1. The adverb “bloody” — ex: “bloody hell”, they created that, it kinda became a thing

2. Katherine, shortly after getting turned, fled to Spain, and in an attempt to bamboozle the Mikaelsons, she pretended to board a ship and compelled the explorers to keep sailing west until he touched land. She compelled him into thinking it would bring him to India. That guy was Christopher Columbus.

3. Kol with a coven of witches tried seeing if animals could be turned into vampiric creatures (he had a cat he really wanted to keep alive). The experiment went horribly wrong. This was in 1346. They did experiments on rats. The rats got diseased, and so did the the bugs, the fleas, that nibbled on the cursed flesh. The mess got a little too big for them to clean up, but the black plague is his fault guys. But he does credit himself for the renaissance by proxy.

4. Klaus accidentally inspired many future artists into making art, notably he taught Cimabue—- as he was terribly bored of medieval art and wanted to see more experimentation. He was bored of mosaic as well and helped popularize oil. He also was a huge advocate of naturalism in art, and often compelled artists into wanting to paint it. He compelled Jan van Eyck and Robert Campin to take credit for bringing oil paint to Europe, because by then he knew the dangers of having his name in history. Plus he couldn’t have Mikael know where they were.

6. Elijah had a lot of fun creating peace summits and stopping political conflicts. Often he compelled himself to be the advisor for many kings, and his mark remains to be that he prevented many conflicts that could have changed history in a many ways.

7. Klaus was the opposite. Often times he liked to find ways to create wars. Elijah and Klaus played political chess with different countries and using kings as figureheads many times, seeing how far they could go at it. It was really about how to outsmart the other without caring about human life really at all (even if Elijah pretended to). They had a lot of fun with the 100 year war.

8.Kol and Rebekah kept flirting with William Shakespeare. Kol won.

9. Rebekah was a lady in waiting of Queen Elizabeth I, but couldn’t compel her bc the queen was unknowingly on vervain. They had a friendship at first, but they were cruel in different ways. Rebekah ended up killing Elizabeth I, by drinking larger and larger quantities of blood, deciding it was time for a new person on the throne. She left soon after not wanting to be found by her father.

10. To flee Mikael they started they French Wars of Religion to distract him as they fled from France

Laz's TVDU Headcanons #1

Okay, it's a known fact that Caroline's favorite blood type is B+. Which I think she favored ironically at first because it made her feel good to say, "Be Positive!" But eventually it grew to be her favorite.

The most common blood types as we know are: A+, A-, B+, B-, O+, O-, AB+, AB- (and I don't know enough about blood science stuff to go deeper then them sadly). ____ I like to imagine that the RH factor (negative and positive) are like flavor intensity. Like a positive blood is fuller, more intense, and tends to be preferred by the vampire community on it's own. A bloods are richer, a little more bitter, kind of like a black coffee but metallic. I think Elena, Damon, Aya, and Klaus prefer A- blood the best. And Anna, Tyler, and Elijah like A+.

Now B bloods are sweet, but in a citrus kind of way. Somewhat tart, and where a B- is like eating a clementine. B+ is like nectarine. Stefan and Lexi I imagine love a good B-, and Lucien and Abbie also I think really like B+ like Caroline. I just like Abbie adopting Caroline’s favorite after that moment. AB blood is a unique flavor. It's saltier. Sweet, but savory. I imagine it tastes like a 70% dark chocolate with sea salt. It's rich, but still quite sweet. And I see this being the favorite for say Rebekah, Kol, Katherine, and Enzo when Positive. Marcel, Tristen, and Finn preferred AB-.

O blood is almost flavorless. When positive it's like bread or pasta or grain. But when negative it's basically like water. Like a good, expensive, really well filtered water. But no flavor. (Perks of being a universal doner). But I see Pearl and Lily liking O-, because it tastes great in Tea. And I see Aurora, Alaric when he was one, and Hayley loving an O+. ___ I think witch blood no matter has a smokey undertone to it. Which Caroline finds weird when type B, but blood isn't bad to vampires, but she does find it strange. (I don't think this smokeyness goes away when a witch becomes a vampire).

Werewolf blood tastes kinda bitter. Like a sharp cheddar when A or AB, but like a Grapefruit or a lemon when B. Vampire blood tastes almost fermented, like the alcohol versions of whatever the old version was. The older the vamp the better aged the flavor of blood. O+ vampire blood is whiskey-like. Doppelgänger blood just tastes GOOD (especially Petrova Doppelgänger blood). No matter what. Because it was the blood used to make vampires, it tastes the best to vampires no matter. I also think vampires tend to prefer the blood type they completed transition with. Not always. But they often associate the taste with that rush of power. Older vampires though eventually curate their own hyper specific tastes.

____ I imagine Ester had B blood, and Mikael had A blood. Rebekah, Kol have type B. Elijah and Finn are AB. Freya and Henrik had A blood. and Klaus... is type O...... (Ansel had type O blood).

Elena is B- (Both John and Grayson Gilbert had blood is B-, but Isobel was probably O)

Bonnie is AB+

Stefan is A+

Damon was O+ (which is why Meredith loves his most of all)

Caroline is type A- (you see the angst I added here, sorry)

Tyler gives B- like Elena (I think Carol Lockwood was a type B-, and Richard was a type O-).

Jeremy, Matt, and April all have B+ vibes

Jenna was A+

Alaric gives O-

Enzo gives O+

✨Sexuality edition ✨ all my opinion, feel free to leave a comment on who you disagree with, and I left out the characters with either confirmed sexualities.

(I made this as a queer person btw)

- April Young is a lesbian and imo on the demisexual scale imo

- Anna Zhu is straight

-Bonnie Bennett I think she is pansexual, though if you asked her, she would shrug and not really have an answer for you, it’s all about who she has a spark with. I think she finds people hot, but it's the connection that sparks trues attraction. And she finds people more attractive once a spark occurs.

- Cami is a proud bisexual. Rip she would have loved pride week and she would have bi flags up in Rousseau’s

- Caroline Forbes took me a while to figure out. Admittedly I first believed she was one of the straight friends, but I don’t actually think this. I think she may be bisexual, possibly comphet (and not in a extreme internalize homephobic way—though I assume she saw how people treated both her parents and definitely has a fear of being judged) just she also is someone who thrives being in a relationship and I think her fear of being alone means she doesn’t really experiment that often. I also think she loves being approached first (chosen) and she grew up in Virginia in the early 2000s where she wasn’t asked out by many women my guess. I imagine in the fics where it takes her and Klaus decades or centuries to get over their shit and finally get together, she would become aware she is also into woman in that in between--but in the ones where they get together pretty quickly I don't think she would. It's really about situation for her tbh.

-Damon Salvatore is a complicated character. Because on one hand I would love to be like “ha ha only straight guy… and you suck” to him, but one; I have headcanons of others just being straight, nor do I think that’s an sign of terribleness (even if I am guilty of doing that to the one not-great character present, I am from the MHA fandom, and if you know, you know). But Damon is complicated, because he has a such an odd relationship with sex and people have such an odd relationship with sex with him (someone did a great analysis, where they realized that no one but him says he is great at sex and those who have had it with him honestly tell him he’s bad at it— he probably doesn’t enjoy it much himself, and yet the dude is the king of self destruction). But he is so internalized homophobic frat boy vibes (and occasionally outwardly? Like he canonical has the most homophobic lines, which of course Julie and co gave those lines to him 🙄). Damon also clings to the face of one woman for over a century, a woman who is, to him, locked in a tomb, he maybe has a one night stand with Sage in that time, a female character who is more on the masculine side. Then he gets infatuated with another (at the time) doomed relationship with the girl whom his brother is with after he realizes Katherine wasn’t going to want him (which really tells you how fast he switched loves tells you he didn’t really love Katherine). When he is with Elena, he consistently pushing her away, and when they are together, it's always after he did something bad or when it feels impossible. Is Damon gay? I don’t know. But I don’t think he likes women. He’s a character who honestly hates women, he hates them so much, and it really does seem deeper than just being misogynistic (and when he is being misogynistic it’s never consistent). His best relationships with woman were the ones that are platonic, those being Rose and Bonnie, and even Liz. I struggle with Damon, because it really would be easier to be like “ha ha you are straight (derogatory)” and leave it at that because oh boy do I hate him, but also I want my head canons and writing to still retain some nuance. Uh oh… I wasted so much time writing about Damon.

- Davina I see as straight. But I don’t remember much about her tbh.

-Elena Gilbert! Another tricky character! I think she is straight, but not in a labeled way. I think she is the kind of person who isn’t opposed to finding love anywhere, but she’s only ever been attracted to guys this far and she determines that she is straight. If anything I think she is really drawn to people who are caring and have a right and wrong code (even if it isn’t a code that is strictly good or evil, but people who have lines they don’t cross, and convictions), but also people she can learn about. She wants substance. I do think she is a victim of manipulation with Damon, and that did change things for her. But I think at the end of the day she is someone who is attracted to complexity and conviction. Though I do think she considers herself straight, but doesn’t see labels as permanent markers either.

-Elijah is demiromantic and demisexual. I don’t think I need to say more tbh.

- Enzo is a straight man, but I recently discovered him with Kol as a ship and I do love it.

- Finn is a straight man I think. But only because he is so devoted to Sage, he isn’t about to think about other possibilities.

- Freya is a lesbian all the way. Like I can’t see her with a man. Yes I hear Lucien’s sobs in the distance too.

- Hayley depends on the fic. I actually have been really vibing with the concept of Hayley/Cami and idk why, so for no reason I think Hayley is bi.

- Jeremy gives straight vibes, but again depends on the fic. I have read a good Jeremy/Kol fic, so I can be convinced otherwise.

- Jenna is bisexual. I don’t think I need to argue this.

- Jo is straight

- Katherine Pierce has zero preferences, just that they be hot.

- Klaus doesn’t care about labels either, and has no gender preferences either. I don’t think he’s demiromantic, because he fell for Caroline fast.

- Kol… yeah he’s the same as above, he really doesn’t care what gender or sex a person is. (edit: Writing this has taught me, he ascends sexuality so much that he can change my normal headcanons).

- Kai is straight

- Lexi is another pansexual queen

- Lily Salvatore is a comphet lesbian who kept ending up in an abusive relationships with a man.

- Liz Forbes, I think she is a straight. But I also think she is more so graysexual to ace, where she could go without sex, like doesn’t need it or even really want it, but will it if her partner wants it. Prefers the romance part of relationships. She and Bill really only ever had sex to have Caroline, but neither really wanted sex ever.

- Matt is straight

- Marcel I think doesn’t give a fuck about gender, but also has no label

- Nadia is bisexual

- Ric is a straight man

- Rebekah is a bisexual queen. But don’t think she has a word for it in her vocabulary.

- Stefan is another person who seems to be pretty open to any one. I think he is drawn to complexity, and needs to be with someone he can enjoy talking to. He needs to be mentally stimulated, and that’s his primary desire.

- Tyler is straight, but I think he needs the woman to be stronger than him in a relationship. He seems to really like it, be that with physical strength or with magic. He seems attracted to strength.
