Saosin, Senses Fail, Silverstein, Eyes Set to Kill.
It's not a phase. It's a lifestyle.
bro I JUST HAD A VERY SUDDEN realization that Brick and Jacques share a voice actor in the polish dub
Letās talk typecasting!
I began to do a full watch of Kathryn Hahnās Filmography a few months back, as I went on I decided to start taking some notes on the typecastings I often saw, itās been interesting actually, basically Iāve looked at sexuality, religion and parent-status. The list isnāt done yet so I wonāt go too far into it
BUT
Iāve also been watching a decent chunk of Aubrey Plazaās filmography when I realised how little of it I had seen.
So Kathryn is 51, Aubrey is 40 - yes there is a chunk of age difference between them but they are close to the same āplaying ageā for a lot of things. They have done a similar amount of projects - IMDB has Aubrey in 98 and Kathryn in 85 but there are a bunch of credits which are for shorts that arenāt easy to find anymore for Aubrey.
Now I havenāt finished either of their Filmographies yet but I have watched a decent chunk of both and Iāve looked through them enough to be pretty sure I wonāt find many more Mum roles for Aubrey in what I havenāt seen.
I donāt count voice work for this because it doesnāt really affect how an actress appears. I can absolutely see that Kathryn has the āMumā look though.
I have seen Aubrey play a Mum 6 times - two of which she is playing biologically female but is the āfather.ā
Kathryn has played a Mum 34 times..! Pretty sure Aubrey has also never played a visibly pregnant character and has only been pregnant on screen for one role.
Itās amazing to see how much this attests to their individual image both in terms of style and in terms of build - and no I donāt mean weight, I mean that Kathryn is just curvier generally. But it also probably has a lot to say about their early work and the things that created their image as an actor.
Also, just before people say it, Yes for Crossing Jordan Kathrynās pregnancy was written in to the role but this is the only time that has happened. She was also actually pregnant during the filming of How Do You Know but she would most likely have been cast in the role of the pregnant character before she fell pregnant with Mae, or at least the role was written as a pregnant character without the pregnant actress attachment.
How did I only just now realize the OBVIOUS similarities between Varys the Spider and Larys Strong?
Both use mysterious sources to gather secrets: Little Birds (Varys)/rats (Larys)
Both have defining physical afflictions beyond their control: eunuch (Varys)/clubfoot (Larys)
Both affect a meek or non-threatening demeanor to disarm people: weird giggles, being purposefully vague, and his exotic dress/perfumes (Varys)/playing up his disability and pretending to be helpful/mild-mannered (Larys)
Both are rumored to be ādeviantsā of some sort: likes little boys (Varys: unproven)/foot fetish (Larys: totally true and wouldn't be so bad if it weren't so predatory)
Both have ambiguous/flexible loyalties: The Realm? (Varys)/his current footslut or the highest bidder? (Larys)
They both employ tongueless minions...
Even their names are just one FREAKING letter apart: (V/L)arys!!!
They are basically the same person! Has anyone ever seen them in a room together at the same time?!?! I don't care that they're supposed to be born centuries apart! You say: important details, I say: convenient excuses!
man imagine if you played one dog on like Airbud the movie or something and then they just typecast you as "the dog" wouldn't that be fucked up
last night me and my best friend were typecasting our friendship as different duos from anime, I said Naruto and Sasuke and this mother fucker said i was sasuke because I'm emo and my mums side of the family are criminals šš
