"dad--" vesta laughed as she felt her feet catch on his, tumbling into them before they could right themself. "okay, we are not made for this--" she laughed, finally getting back upright as they stared back at their father. "no wonder you never taught me how to dance before now."
"okay, this is boring now, come do something fun with me." vesta said to the first person who joined them slightly away from the crowd. "have you seen some of the art here? it's so kriffing ugly, like how did some of this get into a museum."

"this dress is so stuffy, aellyn!" vesta half whispered half growled at their cousin, pulling at the sleeves a little bit more as they struggled to even walk in the giant gown. "how come yours isn't as kriffing poofy as mine?"
vesta had perched herself against the wall, scanning the streets as she kept popping hot cheetos into her mouth. she couldn't explain why, but something about the chaos, the fear going on in the streets.. it only excited them. "hey, you want one?" she asked, holding the bag out to the guy who had paused in front of her.
