I haven’t seen this come up yet in any fanfictions or fanart, but my idea is that instead of ever going back to earth, the establish a dozen or so satellites to connect back to earth and it’s a slow communication it’s on the same level as sending letters. But they can reconnect with stratt :3

The idea of them sending messages back and forth makes me happy and there’s one instance where Grace is asking how private these messages are cause they’d love to share some things with stratt but they’d only be for her ears, like how he bagged 3 baddies statement.

As much as I think a proper howls moving castle au would be so beautiful, that isn’t the dynamic I’m shooting for (proper being Mike and will as howl and Sophie)

I want angst and I want to use the world building of Howls moving castle with how their magic works

Mike - demon vampire (lowkey Marceline)

After the heart of a poweful Sorcer, and if he has his eye on a particular wizard it’s only cause he’s rumored to be the most gifted, and totally not cause of some dumb childhood promise, that’s for sure.

Sorcer Byers - took in Delightful Derek as an apprentice (movie didn’t explain so I ain’t gunna either)

Cares for his apprentice Derek, pumpkin head (el), and old lady Maxine (max), and maybe has room for an unruly vampire in his castle some where.

Maxine and PumpkinHead have the same relationship as Sophie and TurnipHead in the first part of the movie, so Maxine stumbled into castle Byers through the wastes and helped pumpkin head out after she got stuck in the castle

Creel cursed the princess El to be a scarecrow for her crime of wanting to stop the war and was banished to the wastes, shortly after finding out her fate Max tries to find her out in the wastes but is stopped by one of Creels leech guards and is cursed to become Old lady Maxine, who keeps forgetting what she was looking for.

In my version of this au, Eleven would be trans. The party, when they first find her, they'd be like omg, you look like a boy with your shaved head, but your face looks feminine, so they would still dress her in her iconic pink dress outfit, and would be revealed that she was amab around the train tracks diversion scene.

Adding this layer of trans identity to her story would more obviously reinforce the themes of El needing to find herself outside of what Hopper/Dr. Brenner/Mike thinks she should find strength in herself.

And it would also reinforce how Mike / Michelle see el as a way to ignore their queerness by being with the genderbent version of Will / Willow.

Because Will and El often have antiparallel roles/symbolism throughout the show, i.e, Will's missing first season and E.L. shows up, second season El's missing and Will has shown back up, victim vs hero, how Mike struggles with balancing relationships between both of them, their relationships are often shown in a "you get on or the other way".

Also, Kali could introduce her to the concept of being trans, and Kali could be trans herself. All of Kali's gang is trans now.

Another reason that El is trans in the genderbent is that there are many scenes where she enjoys being herself that are inherently feminine, and I would never wanna change that part of her self-discovery. When she comments on how she finds Nancy pretty, and then proceeds to dress in Nancy's old clothes and finds herself pretty, and when she is distressed and lashes out at having lost her nice wig. And when she and Max have their montage in the mall, she seems the most happy andfreeste, I can't imagine her story without her love for femininity and her struggle with keeping it.
